Hello from WordPress! The change has been made, and it’s still too early to tell if I love it or not. I’m sure I will, but you know how most of us feel about change–it takes a little while to get used to. Thankfully, this site pretty much looks identical to how it looked on Blogger. There are very minor changes aesthetically, but hopefully, the site performance is better for you since most of you are reading on a mobile device of some sort.
Here’s what’s going on behind the technical scenes: There are still some kinks that need to be ironed out. There are some formatting issues I’m encountering, like font size, but I’m working on getting those minor details fixed. When I had everything transferred over, there were some paragraph spacing issues in some of my old posts, but all old posts are still here. Some pages might give you a “Not found, Error 404” site if you happen to Google certain things, but I’m working on fixing that, too. If you’ve been following along by email subscription or Bloglovin’, everything should still show up for you like normal. There might be a change coming in the commenting system if I can’t figure out how to fix some issues with it, but I’ll let you know about that change if it happens. If something isn’t working right for you or you notice something looks askew, please let me know!
For those of you who are bloggers and have ever made the switch to a self-hosted site, I’m sure you can all agree that there is a learning curve. I’m still getting used to the new format of everything behind the scenes and learning all about themes, formatting, coding, plugins, settings, and appearance. I’m taking it one step at a time. I plan on doing a post detailing why I thought the change was a good one soon, but know that the main reason was to make it easier to access my Bible Study when it comes along.
What’s coming up…
Last night, I spent a good hour writing down topics in my notebook that were coming to me one after another. So far there are three pages full of blog post ideas that I can’t wait to share. My creative well had dried up for a little while, and I had encountered a bit of a writer’s block, but I think we can safely say that I’m over it. I look forward to giving you more quality content similar to content you’ve loved before: more series, tutorials, and inspiration.
I’m working hard on getting the ebook Bible Study in order. I have an outline, but I think I’m ready to actually start writing it. Yes, it still is not written, but I wanted to take my time with it and make sure that God is the one who’s writing it, not just me. And you know His timing is always perfect, so there’s that.
This year I also am wanting to implement a new blog design now that I’m capable to do so much more on WordPress. I hope to get that done in the summer. Another thing coming to keep you in the loop with all of these changes is a newsletter. I know I appreciate newsletters that offer me something, so I’m thinking long and hard about how I can go about doing that before I launch it.
Now for the survey…
Can you believe it’s been a little over two years since I hit publish on my very first blog post? Last month was my two year blogiversary, and I’m sorry I didn’t throw a grand party, but y’all know how crazy things have been. It seems like things are finally simmering down (knock on wood), so I figured now is as good a time as ever to stop and reflect on YOU. Because after all, I started this because of you. Sure this space is also my little online diary, but my favorite part of having this blog is bringing you a little bit of inspiration, fun ideas, and most importantly, hope.
With that being said, I would love and appreciate your feedback. If you would be a doll and fill out this quick, anonymous survey, I would be forever grateful. I had a survey for you at the beginning of last year, and it really helped me focus and grow this space, and I know you will help me grow again with the input you provide this year. You can click here to open a separate tab if the survey is not showing up correctly below.
Thank you so much for your continued support for me, for my family, and for this space I call Seven Graces. It’s been a wonderful, crazy ride so far, and I look forward for all things to come.
Be blessed, friend!

WordPress looks good on you, Lady! You’ve got me wondering if I should make the switch.

Thanks, Brettni! I think it’ll be better in the long run. :) I was perfectly content with Blogger, but I think this will push me to really go for my goals. You know what I mean? The girl who did my transfer was awesome if you need a referral.

Congratulations! It looks awesome!
I love WordPress. I think once you get used to it, you’ll love it too.
I can’t wait for your Bible Study! So exciting!

Thanks, sweet friend! I’m sure once I get the hang of it, I’ll love it too. I am getting really excited about my Bible Study as well. I really hope I can do it justice. ;)

Looking good sister! WordPress takes some time to get use to but you will love it eventually. I feel like it took me almost 6 months to really get it down. I need to do a survey! Filled yours out! Thanks for the reminder. :)
