This past weekend my little love muffin officially turned 18 months old. Y’all. Where did my baby go? Friday, we took her to her well-check visit, and sister girl has grown a whole 2 INCHES since her last appointment at her 15-month check up. That is huge! It pushed her back up into the tall category, and I really don’t where she gets it from. This last appointment was such an easy visit compared to her last one. Do y’all remember when I was a nervous wreck about her hip after her 15-month appointment and when we went through the roller coaster with the specialists about how she has a slight case of hip dysplasia? Well, at 17-months, she finally started walking and just look at her now. At 18-months, she is unstoppable, a force to be reckoned with. And I’m giving all the glory to God.
Here she is at our latest playdate with Houston Moms Blog at such a fun event with Young Leaders Campus Network. We were able to enjoy playtime in a big gym, drawing and coloring in an art room, and cooking/making trail mix in a fun kitchen.
I know this is a blurry picture, but she looks ginormous at this little table. My sweet baby girl. |
My little 18-month-old beauty is such a joy. Pure joy. I want to remember every single little thing that she does, because it’s always the little things that make my heart sing. I want to remember the way she runs to me when she gets excited. The way she laughs uncontrollably when she gets tickled in the slightest of ways. The way she hugs on tightly to her Piggy when she’s showing him love. The way she hugs ME tightly before I put her to bed. The way she “eats” her toy food in her Fisher Price picnic basket. The way she smiles so brightly with the puffiest, squishiest cheeks. The way she squeals when her daddy gets home. The way she studies everything around her when she’s in new surroundings. They way she always wants to read books. The way she tries so hard to communicate with her words. The way she asks for food by saying “gooood” and walking up to her high chair. The way she brushes her teeth with her baby tooth brush. The way she furiously runs her hands through her hair when she is done eating. The she sweetly says “love ya.” The way she loves to splash around in pools and the bath tub. The way she dances hysterically when a fun tune comes on the TV. The way she loves Mickey Mouse with all her heart. The way she walks around dragging a blanky. The way she gets sweat bubbles on her nose when she’s too hot. The way she says “‘men” after we’re done praying before a meal. The way she sucks on her fingers instead of a pacifier for comfort. The way she gleefully lights up when I pick her up from her crib. The way she cries in pain from teething and only wants hugs from mommy (or daddy, too). The way she loves all foods and says “mmmhmmm” in delight. The way she wants to sit in my lap after she gets worn out from playing. The way she gets onto her rocking horse/lamb by herself and rides it into a far away kingdom. These are the little things I don’t ever want to forget.
These are the things that make this life a great one. I am so thankful and blessed beyond measure to have her in my life. These last 18 months have been the greatest of my life. Thank you, my little Charlotte Grace. Thank you for making me see the best in life. It’s always the little things.

Such a cutie! This post will be fun for you to look back on as she grows. We always think we'll remember these little details, but they somehow get a little lost in the shuffle. What a treasure!

You know, Marie, I never thought I would be blogging about our life, but I am so thankful I have started. I am horrible about keeping a baby book, so at least I'll have it all right here. I do want to remember all of these little details. Thanks so much for your sweet comments! :)

2 inches in 3 months? Wow! She is entirely too cute. Love the pictures. Precious post!

Thanks, girl! And yes, 2 inches in 3 months! Her doctor was shocked. Lol. It shot her back up into the 85th percentile, she had been around the 60th. I knew she had a growth spurt around 16-17 months because clothes were starting to get too small. But yikes! I hope I can keep up. :)

oh so sweet! Tearing up at the last paragraph! All the things I want to remember too, even the nose sweat ha. She also gets red faced, which inevitably starts my worry but she just gets it from her dad. She is so big and taking on the world now! I love that! 2 inches, wow. And, I love me some jammies!

Thanks, Courtney! I was tearing up writing it! Her nose beads of sweat…she gets it from her mama! My poor baby. Lol. Hope you were able to enter the giveaway. ;) Happy weekend!

She is such a cutie! How do they grow so fast?! Before becoming a mama I never understood how people could be so surprised at their children growing up so fast, but now I do! Time just slips away, and I don't want to forget a second of it! Thanks for sharing your sweet thoughts.

Exactly! I don't ever want to forget these times or take them for granted.

Awww, she is such a sweetheart. They grow up so fast… it's mind-boggling!
I love that you pause to reflect on her changes and growth. Continue to savour these precious and blessed moments.
I often wonder how the people of that time couldn't believe in Jesus! However, as you pointed out here, unbelievers would have been frightened and overwhelmed by such unexplainable sights!
Thanks so much for sharing (and for linking up to the #SHINEbloghop)!
Wishing you a lovely day.
xoxo

Thanks, Jennifer! I still can't believe how fast she's growing, but it really is like watching a miracle unfold before your eyes. And miracles just can't be explained. :)
Thanks again for your linkup! Have a great day!
