Happy Friday before Valentine’s Day! Are you here for the free Valentine’s Day DIY printable? I have five quick things today, because I know you’re probably busy. But all of these things are kind of a big deal. ;)
ONE. Sleep Training
My big boy turned five months yesterday, so I decided that it was time that we adjust his schedule and sleep train a little bit. What I had been doing was letting him nap whenever he needed and go to bed whenever he wanted. Bad mama. He was getting the right amount of hours of sleep, but his late bedtime was driving me a little bananas. We just got through Day 3, and it finally went well. I’m crossing my fingers that it will stick. I’ll be sharing all the details soon, but in the meantime, you can read the sleep training method I use here.
Look how happy my big boy is!
TWO. Yummy Recipes
We’ve been recording Martha Stewart’s Cooking School & Martha Stewart Bakes on PBS Saturday mornings. So far, we’ve tried two of the recipes we’ve learned, and they both were so good. These hazelnut cookies were delicious! You can find the hazelnut cookie five-ingredient recipe we used here.
If you’re looking for a great cooking show, I highly recommend watching Martha’s. We’re loving it.
I’ll be sharing this chopped salad recipe next week, too.
And just in case you missed it, be sure to add this Beef Ragu slow cooker recipe I shared last week to your menu. I made this again yesterday, and it’s so delicious. For more pasta recipes, you can also check here.
THREE. Target Love
Binxy Baby Hammock (c/0)
The Dollar Spot has been so good lately. I braved the store with both babies the other day, and it was all worth it because I found Charlotte’s class Valentine’s Day cards for super cheap. The selection was so good, and it was hard to choose, but she ended up picking the cards with the mini-bubbles. I’ll share a picture on Instagram soon. If you haven’t bought any yet, definitely check the Dollar Spot.
FOUR. My baby is almost not a baby.
Thursday was Pizza & Pajama Day for Little Miss Sass, and she loved it of course. The apple doesn’t fall far from the tree. Next Thursday, my sweet girl will be FOUR. I CAN’T EVEN. You better believe I’m going to be sobbing and lamenting all the ways I love her. She’s been pushing my patience lately, but she’s still so sweet, darn it.
She burst out in song on our way home from school yesterday, and you know what she was singing? A prayer she learned at school. Just when I thought she wasn’t learning anything since she’s still struggling with her alphabets, she sang me a prayer. And now all is right in the world. She might not recognize letters just yet, but she knows Jesus. I’ll take that as a win.
FIVE. Valentine’s Day DIY Free Printable Activity
I made a super fun printable activity for you in case you need a fun craft to do with your little this weekend in preparation for the big day of love. Your toddler or preschooler will love it!
What You’ll Need
- This printable.
- multi-color construction paper or paper scraps
- glue or gluestick
- 8×10 frame
Directions
- Print out the PDF and gather your supplies.
- This is the fun part! Have your child rip the construction paper or paper scraps to shreds. This is great for improving those fine motor skills. (This really makes for a fun indoor activity.)
- Once the paper is torn into pieces, have your babe take a gluestick and go to town gluing the paper onto the inside of the heart.
- When they are done with their masterpiece, frame it and seal it with a kiss.
Charlotte made this one below for her daddy for Father’s Day this past year, but I thought this would be the perfect gift for Valentine’s Day, too. She worked on this so diligently, and my hubby still has it in his office. :)
You can download the heart PDF here for the activity. Let me know if you try it! :)
And that’s a wrap, y’all. We have a busy weekend planned. My mom and Momo are coming to watch the kiddos and M & I will be heading to a fancy gala. Woohoo! I hope you all have a wonderfully blessed weekend wherever you are. And don’t forget to be the sunshine is someone’s day.
Ta ta for now!

Such a fun little DIY! I might print that out and do it with my boys this weekend! And I know what you mean about our babies growing up. My twins will be 3 in May and it all of the sudden feels like they’re not really babies anymore. It makes me sad.

SO many wonderful things!
Oh how I miss Target (they closed up here in Canada) – although I heard that our Targets weren’t as good as the ones in the USA.
Love the Valentine Heart project! Adorable!
