Even though the hubs and I didn’t know anyone there, we certainly enjoyed ourselves. The wedding was absolutely beautiful, and the food was amazing. We met some great people at our table, and we even danced. Houston had some crazy weather, of course, but it did not hinder the celebration in any way.
Kelsey’s dress was reminiscent of the Duchess of Cambridge’s dress. So gorgeous!
Thanks to my mother-in-law, we were able to enjoy ourselves and our night on the town. It was so special celebrating the most precious wedding. Sunday though was spent searching for a new carseat. We totally forgot that we had moved Charlotte’s carseat to the MIL’s car, and by the time we remembered, it was too late. You see, when family comes to watch Charlotte, they drive at least an hour and half to do so, meaning when they leave, they can’t just come right back. Anyway, we decided to bite the bullet and buy a second carseat. We ended up going with the Graco Nautilus 3-in-1 carseat (in the Matrix design) after I scrambled to read reviews. (We love our Britax Marathon, but we’ll reunite with it in couple of weeks. This was a good second option at a much more reasonable price and will grow with her, too.) It took some tracking down, but we finally found one at a nearby Toys R’ Us.
We ended our weekend with M washing the car and Charlotte encountering her first worm.
She was at first intrigued, but then said, “Ewww!” It was fun teaching her about worms. I have such a girly girl. She cracks me up every day. All in all, it was a great weekend.
I have some fun posts coming up this week, but I thought that this wedding and Charlotte’s reaction were worth a mention here on the blog. Some days I miss teaching. Kelsey told me that I must go back one day. Who knows what will happen. But getting to teach this little light of mine, my very own student for life, gives me so much joy (gray hairs too but mostly joy). And one day before I know it, I’ll be celebrating Charlotte’s wedding. I’m sure we’ll invite Kelsey to that, too.

What a sweet post! So glad that you got to share in the celebration of one of your former students. My daughter is 10 now, but we had multiple car seats when she was smaller. We had one in each vehicle and then my mom had one in hers. Gosh, it was so convenient! Enjoy your week!

It was such a cool moment to be able to celebrate the wedding! And yes, I think we just needed to have two carseats. It only makes sense. :) Hope you’re having a great week, Laura!

I have taught k-12 and the high schoolers are my favorite!
Ellie met a worm last week and tried to eat it…not sure which reaction I prefer!

I taught high schoolers for 9 years, and I loved teaching them. :) That is hilarious about Ellie! Babies are the best! Hope you’re having a great week, Ashley!
