Well, hello! The wheels have been a’turning over here, and I am just working like a busy bee trying to make things happen, and make all of the ideas I’ve had brewing come to fruition. Do you ever feel so excited about something that you can just see your next step? Not the mundane steps that get you there, but the NEXT. STEP. The next level. I can see it, and I am pumped. Hopefully this will all play out soon (and if not soon, it will happen when it’s supposed to), and you can see what has me so excited, but for now, let’s talk about all the things I’ve been wanting to share with you, because it’s been a minute.
I’m starting this new series called The Monthly Edit, where I’ll share my favorite products, favorite moments, favorite music, and all the good stuff. (Kind of like my Friday Favorites or Currently Confessing, but a big monthly roundup.) Ready? Set. Go!
CLOTHES
Last month, we had so much fun with the May Mom Style Challenge, and it really pushed me to care more about myself and how I carry myself. Sure, it’s fun to stay in your pajamas all day when you’re a stay-at-home mom, but for me, it makes me feel so unproductive. If you can get things done while in your pajamas, get it, girl! But I cannot. At least not during the day anyway. I just don’t work well when I’m not “dressed.” Enter the May Mom Style Challenge. For those of you who missed it, it was a month-long style challenge with daily style prompts to get you inspired daily when putting an outfit together. I shared the first half of the month’s recap of outfits, but I wasn’t able to get a snap every day of the last part of the challenge. I did my best to document it on InstaStories.
I’ve since tried to keep it up with the daily outfits, and one of my favorite’s was this one.
tshirt (closet staple!) // jeans // belt (Gucci dupe!) // slides (similar & on sale)
Since forever, I’ve been a jeans and tshirt kind of girl, and I could wear this outfit every day. It’s so comfy, and I’m totally in love with these jeans from Amazon Prime! They’re under 50 dollars, but they look and feel like designer jeans. This tshirt is 15 dollars, and I probably could own about five. It’s so comfy, and it looks great tucked in. The slides are old, but I linked a similar pair that are currently on sale. Holla!
AMAZON FAVORITES
Speaking of shopping, I have my own page on Amazon where you can shop my favorites! So far, I’ve listed some summer pieces I’m loving and own, and I also have my favorite essential oils accessories listed, too. You can find that page here on Amazon. I do receive a small commission when you shop using my links, and I’m always so appreciative! I also am love, love, loving these sunglasses that are 15 dollar versions of a very expensive 300 dollar designer pair and this maxi dress. These pajamas are also a must! I’ll do a full roundup of summer favorites from Amazon asap! In the meantime, you can see all I’m loving on my very own Amazon page.
FAVORITE THINGS
Now that Charlotte’s out of school, we’ve been trying to do all the things to keep her busy. Last week we went out and got some craft supplies and also picked up this preschool readiness kit! For you minimal-crafty moms like me, this is the best because it comes with all of the printouts you need (that you’ve probably already pinned to Pinterest but will never print out), colors, markers, pencils, construction paper, and scissors. You will be set to play school! I’m crying big tears inside because Charlotte will be starting real school in the fall, but we won’t even go there.
We also just bought this inflatable pool from HEB for the babes, and they have been loving it! We try to set up as often as we can despite the heat, and it’s really been fun to watch them have such simple fun. I just love it. I never want to forget these sweet summer nights with the water hose running, giggles galore, and splashes all around.
I love sitting outside at our new patio table, listening to music on the Amazon Tap, sipping on something cold. I recently just found the amazingness that is Leon Bridges, and I’m so in love with his music! Sorry I’ve been living under a rock and hadn’t heard of him, but I’m so glad I finally caught a listen. He has that cool 60s vibe, and his sound doesn’t even sound like all the rubbish on the radio. He’s an old soul for sure.
I’ll be working on a summer playlist, but I’m super excited to share my NYC playlist soon, too! I just love music.
FAVORITE SUMMER MAKEUP
I’ve also been loving using a new makeup! Ever since I started using Young Living, I’ve wanted to try their Savvy Minerals makeup line, so when it went on sale, I snagged a kit. I wasn’t sure I would like it, but I LOVE it. It is so light and natural and amazing for your skin. These photos are totally unedited, and I think the coverage is just perfect. You can make it as heavy or light as you want it depending on the coverage and what you use to apply it. I have been using my glow serum as a base, then the rose infused misting spray on my brushes to dip into the loose powder to apply. It’s so good. I just can’t say enough about it.
If you would like more info, be sure to check my Instagram page or read more here.
And that’s all I got for this month. I haven’t had much time to read or watch Netflix lately, but I’m itching to get back to that. What are some of your favorite summer reads and watches?
Talk soon, friends!
Xoxo,
Kristy
