This post is sponsored by Raddish; however, all thoughts and opinions are my own.
Ever since Charlotte was a little girl, she has loved cooking shows! She always wants to help when we’re in the kitchen making anything, so I knew when we found Raddish, a cooking club for kids, she would be over the moon about it! And I was right.
Raddish is the coolest thing that Michael and I have found for her in quite some time. It’s a themed, monthly subscription box that sends you all you need to have a one-of-a-kind culinary experience that your kids can do with very little help from mom or dad. It fosters imagination, connection, and family time!
Meet the Kit
In this little box of magic, you’ll find:
- an apron
- a specific utensil you will need for the recipe
- table talk cards (perfect for dinnertime)
- 3 recipe cards with illustrations to guide you (main course, side, and dessert)
- shopping list
- educational fun facts about cooking and about the country the box’s recipes represent
- a patch to iron onto your apron & collect with each monthly box
- siblings also get materials, too!
Charlotte was ecstatic the minute she opened the box and saw of all its contents. She could not wait to make each recipe, and could not stop talking about it all week.
One thing that was important to me about this type of subscription was that I would be able to purchase my own groceries. This allows you to open the box with your child, go shopping together, and then really dig into making everything at your own convenience.
Cooking with Kids
Then it was showtime! We picked the weekend to make our feast, because I wanted to be sure we had plenty of time to go through each recipe with no rush. Once we started reading the directions, the cards really set you up for success.
The talking points about the countries and cooking techniques were also such great ideas to add into our experience. It allowed for lots of conversation and learning. It really felt like a geography and cooking lesson all in one. I just love that we can make memories in the kitchen like this. Colin was even able to join in for a little while.
What makes the Raddish box so fun for us parents is being able to watch your kid come to life as they take the lead in preparing all three recipes. I really loved the recipe illustration cards for this very reason.
From the moment we opened the box all the way to sitting down to eat our meal, we loved every moment of the experience. The recipes were perfection, and we will absolutely be making everything again.
Pro tip: Make your recipe first or even a day ahead. This will allow you to eat your meal when it’s still hot, and not worry about whipping up a dessert at the same time. You’re welcome.
Raddish’s mission is to deliver culinary experiences that nurture kids’ confidence in the kitchen and beyond, and that it most certainly does! You guys must try this out for your little chefs. You will have so much together, and you’ll have the best meal ever.
OUR SECOND BOX
Our second box arrived about a week ago, and Charlotte was so excited to unbox her kit and get to cooking. We are loving cooking together so much, and this cooking box truly is the most fun! This month’s theme, ‘Game Day Gourmet’ was the yummiest, and we loved making all the recipes together. Remember to use my promo code 7GRACES for $15 off a 6-month membership! It will make the perfect gift for your little chef!
The recipes that come each month are always timely and delicious! To recap what comes in the box, here’s what came in September’s sports themed edition:
- a specific utensil you will need for the recipe: This month’s was a pastry brush for the ballpark pretzels.
- table talk cards (perfect for dinnertime): And this month’s kit also came with Kitchen Game ideas to play.
- 3 recipe cards with illustrations to guide you (main course, side, and dessert): The Ballpark Pretzels, Game Day Chili, and Sporty Cookie Cake were all amazing!
- shopping list: I always appreciate the easy list!
- educational material, including culinary skills. We were so happy to learn how to make a pretzel with a step-by-step guide!
- a patch to iron onto your apron from the first box!
The box gave us three variations of how to make our pretzels, but we went with the classic twist. Next time, we’ll probably try the sugar and cinnamon version.
But the sporty cookie cake was absolutely Charlotte’s favorite thing to make! I know for a fact that we most definitely will be making that again.
These recipes are absolute crowd-pleasers, and it’s been so much fun adding all of these recipes to our regular rotation of meals. The Raddish Kids subscription is one of the best gifts you can give your child. Not only does it teach them new skills, it also fosters family time and sweet memories. And that’s what it’s all about.
