Hey, friends! I guess you can say we’re back in business. Three blog posts in three days? High fives all around!
If you’ve been following along on Instagram or even Facebook, you might have heard me talking about how I am feeling a million times better since dealing with that whole postpartum depression funk. It was not fun, and I plan on writing more about it soon, but in the meantime, I have tons of other fun projects I’ve been working on. Let’s get this started, shall we?
ONE. Traveling to…
This past weekend, I had the opportunity to take a much-needed girls’ trip! I haven’t had a girls’ trip with my friends since my bachelorette party seven years ago. It was such a nice weekend. We road-tripped it to Fredericksburg, our wine country in Texas. We enjoyed three fabulous wineries, tons of good food, and lots of laughs. If you’re in Texas, I highly recommend finding a house with Home Away, grabbing your girlfriends, and high-tailing it to the wide-open-spaces. We’ll definitely be doing this again, but we’ll probably let our husbands join us next time. ;)
TWO. Making…
I shared this the other day on Instagram, but I had to share it here, too. My friend Kim (from the blog Always a New Day), shared with me one of her favorite, easy recipes, and this was so good! Here is the easiest and most delicious Crock Pot/Slow Cooker recipes I’ve had in a long time.
Slow Cooker Buffalo Chicken
Ingredients
- 2 lbs of chicken breasts
- 1 package of ranch dressing mix
- 1 bottle of buffalo wing sauce (mild) — note: this was still too spicy for Charlotte.
- 4 large sweet potatoes
Directions
- Throw thawed chicken, dressing mix, and buffalo sauce in the Crock Pot for 3-4 hours on high or 6-8 on low.
- About an hour before your chicken is ready, turn on the oven to 450 degrees.
- Clean and slice sweet potatoes in half. Wrap in foil.
- Bake sweet potatoes for an hour to an hour and 15 minutes.
- Once everything is ready, shred your chicken and toss on top of the sweet potatoes.
- Garnish with Greek yogurt or sour cream like I did, and drizzle with more Ranch dressing like a true Texan. Sprinkle with chives for some greenery and added vegetable pizazz.
THREE. Buying…

I am so excited about spring shopping. I’ve slowly been buying myself some clothes again, and it feels great! I wish this shirt would have fit me, but it swallowed me. :/ If you order it, size down! It’s so cute though, but I went ahead and got exchanged it for something else. I can’t wait to start sharing more fashion posts with you, too. Fun and functional outfits for moms on the go is exactly what I’ll be sharing.
And for my babies (and hubs, too), I’ve found some great purchases as of late.
How adorable are Colin’s little Chucks? I melted the first time I put them on him. So cute!
Colin’s Converse Chuck Taylor First Star Crib Shoes (only $22 & free shipping!)
And if you’ve never shopped Free Babes Bows, now Wunderkin Co., you’re missing out. They sell out faster than John Mayer tickets, so be sure to follow their Instagram and join their Facebook group. Wowzers. I’m loving Charlotte’s pink bubblegum velvet bows she got from them recently. Adorable!

FOUR. Excited about…
Holy, mackerel, that’s a close-up (and totally not retouched)! But I had to share this unedited version of my no-makeup face to let you know about something new I’m trying. Recently, I teamed up with one of my good friends who just started selling Rodan + Fields, you know, the amazing skincare line by the creators of Proactiv.
This is my “before” shot. Granted, I don’t have major skin problems, but the older I get, the duller my face gets. My pores are too big, I have breakouts frequently, there is some discoloration and redness, and I have some wrinkles going on. She hooked me up with two regimens that I’m trying out to help all of my problems, and I’m LOVING them. I’m trying Unblemish (because hormones have not settled for me) and Reverse, and she also threw in the R+F Eye Cream, aka liquid gold for tired eyes. You should see some of the before and after pictures! I’m so excited for my face to look like an “after.”
If you want to join me on my skincare transformation journey, contact Tricia. She will get you and your face back to tip-top shape. And if you want to become a preferred customer to enjoy free shipping and a 10% discount, she’ll return the $20 one-time membership fee via Visa gift card. Doesn’t that sound like a grand plan? See her page for all the details to take a little quiz to see what your face could be pampered with, and tell her I sent you. ;) I can’t wait to share with you my results in a few weeks.
FIVE. Loving…
Have we talked about my new design around here? I hope you’re loving it as much as I am. Would you all like me to walk you through the new design or dig in yourself? Is there anything missing or you’d like to see to help you navigate it better? Some of the menu tabs are collapsable, which will take you directly to the page with all of the posts on a certain topic like faith or recipes or fashion.
Also new is the subscription box. Right now, I’m hosting a giveaway, which you can find in the post “What I’ve Loved in My Three Years of Blogging,” just for signing up. Currently, you’re subscribing to receive new blog posts directly to your inbox, but in the coming weeks, I’ll be sharing newsletters with frequently asked questions all to help a sister out! It’ll be our own little sisterhood through emails, so don’t miss out! I’ll pick a winner of the beautiful Lilly Pulitzer + Starbucks S’well bottle next week and will announce who our lucky lady is next Friday. Entries are low right now meaning your chances of winning are very high! Enter now. Go! Run! ;)
The blog design is a work in progress, and I’ll be fixing it up and working out anything that’s not working properly in spare time. I also still need to categorize a ton of posts. :/ We’ll get there, ladies!
Thanks again for being the best tribe ever. I hope you all have a very blessed weekend. Now go and spread some sunshine. Xoxo
