EEEEK! It’s Friday, this month is flying by, I have a million things on my t0-do list, and I am just filled with excitement! Tomorrow morning is the Royal Wedding, y’all, and I am giddy for all of the events! So in honor of that, let’s catch up in today’s Currently Confessing with lots of royal fun stuff and other fun things, too.
ONE.
This was floating around on InstaStories, then I tracked it down to Her View From Home’s Facebook page. This is something to obviously share with friends since some people get worked into a tizzy about sharing such info. (Such an eyeroll for a sign of the time we’re living in). But have fun with this, and send your name to all your girlfriends and have a laugh! Let’s all be guests to our DVR’d footage of the royal wedding!
TWO.
Did you happen to catch the Lifetime original, Harry and Meghan: A Royal Romance? I have to be honest. With as obsessed with the royals as I am (I mean, I’ve loved Will & Kate since they first started dating in college and then The Crown? Psshh!), I wasn’t that interested in these two. But then I got caught up in the hooplah, because in a day and age with such sorrow on the news every single day, it’s nice to have a glimmer of happiness pop up in the world news. When I heard about this movie (thanks to my uncle no less), I immediately recorded it! I stayed up late one night this week, and I could probably watch this 10 more times. It’s cheesy but in such a good way! If you haven’t seen it, go watch! So fun!
THREE.
All right, so moving on to non-royal things. Have you listened to John Mayer’s new single? I love it! Obviously. If you’ve been following along for any amount of time, you should know he is my celebrity crush (alongside JT), and his music just moves my soul! What do you think of it? I cannot wait for a new album with this vibe. I’m liking it a lot!
FOUR.
image and book picks via my bestie, Kim, from Always a New Day
What are you reading this summer? I’m loving these picks from my friend Kim (you can read all about each one on her blog)! I am loving that she has Girl, Wash Your Face on her list, because I am on such a non-fiction kick lately, which is quite the departure from my beloved Chick Lit. It is a must read for any woman!!! Kim’s picks are definitely going on my list, though, that is for sure!
I just started reading Present Over Perfect, actually, I’m listening to it via Audible. So far, so good!
Have you tried Audible? I’m hooked! The very first book I listened to was Girl, Wash Your Face, and it was like my very own counseling session with Rachel Hollis as my counselor. Why? Because she was reading her book of encouragement right to me! You can get TWO books for free with the 30 day trial, and all you have to do is cancel if you don’t want the membership anymore. You still get to keep your free books though! How cool is that? You can go here to claim your free books and try Audible! Sign up and let me know what two books you’re going to listen to!
FIVE.
Life lately! Oh, man. I always forget how busy May can be until it sneaks up on us. This month has been a fun one, and we still have two weeks left of it. Here are some fun things that have been happening when I don’t have time to write a blog post or update my InstaStories.
- Time with my besties is always well spent. These girls have been around since 2002, and I just adore the friendship that we have. One of our beloveds is moving out of state, so we got together one last time in her old Texas home before she leaves us for the mountains.
- I ordered a new desk and chair last month, and I am so excited that my desk just came in this week! I cannot wait to complete the space. My office has been a safe harbor for unopened boxes since our move this past August, but their time of cluttering the room is almost up! So excited about sharing all the details with you next month.
- Mother’s Day with my peeps was so special this year. My cup runneth over this year. Maybe because I’m finally out of the funk that was postpartum depression, but I truly savored the day with my loves who have made me a mom. I was feeling a little under the weather, but I still enjoyed the heck out of the day relaxing and being spoiled by my crew.
- Charlotte graduated PRE-K. I have so many mixed emotions about this milestone as all mamas do. A little bit of heartbreak mixed with a little bit of heartburst. So proud of my big girl and how far she’s come since walking in those doors three years ago.
- We also extended our patio porch this month, and we are loving it! Michael picked out the new furniture since he has deemed this his man cave. Such a great daddy he is because our kids have taken it over. They love being outside all the time now! Even when it’s a 100 degrees outside.
- And lastly, my kids finally got a haircut this week. Colin clearly loves haircuts but doesn’t. He screams and cries the entire time, but the woman who cut his hair this time was not fazed in the least. Both my babies look so cute with their summer cuts. :)
That’s all she wrote, friends! I hope you’re still having fun keeping up with the May Mom Style challenge, and thank you so much for reading and being a friend! Summer is always my favorite time to create new content, and I am itching with so many new ideas that will be published soon. Woohoo for sweet summertime! It’s almost that time.
Have a blessed weekend, and I’ll chat with you all soon!
Xoxo,
Kristy
