It’s that time friends! We’re heading toward the end of the year, and all the things are happening. It seems like there is no way you can even think about eating healthy with all the parties and meetings and extracurricular activities in full swing. But you can. There’s a better way, and all it takes is a little thought and about 30 minutes of your Sunday. Let’s talk meal prep, friends!
You all know that I’ve been on a swinging pendulum with the Paleo lifestyle. It’s the best way I know how to eat healthy. When you meal prep, there is absolutely zero excuse for you to fall off the wagon. I am horrible with my eating habits when I’m busy (which is almost always), and I often forget to eat. But with meal planning, it saves me time and effort and an empty stomach. Want to know my easy peasy method for meal planning? Here is my saving grace meal prep plan from this work-from-home mama.
Paleo Meal Prep Plan
Grab these supplies:
- TakeAlongs® Meal Prep Containers
- chicken thighs
- sweet potato fries
- frozen mixed veggies
- fruit (or dried fruit)
- plantain chips
- sliced carrots
- hummus
- boiled eggs
See how simple that list is? Don’t make it complicated.
On Sunday afternoon, I pan sear my chicken thighs with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. While I’m preparing that, I throw my sweet potato fries in the oven. When everything is almost done, I prepare the frozen veggies. Done! I lay everything out assembly line style, and then I fill my TakeAlongs Meal Prep Containers with the week’s lunches for myself. (I share with my husband sometimes, too.)
To take it one step further, I meal prep my breakfast and morning snacks. I absolutely love hummus and carrots, plantain chips, dried fruit and nuts mix, and boiled eggs! I cut everything up and pack away. They line up perfectly in the fridge leaving me feeling super organized.
These are the perfect grab and snack containers, because I can open one up, bring it to my office, and nibble on all the goodness all morning long. Once lunch time rolls around, I’m not starving and will not overeat, and I won’t be tempted to choose something unhealthy. Why? Because I don’t have to worry about making anything. It’s already done. I just reheat my lunch, and voila! A perfect Paleo lunch.
You know what makes the TakeAlongs® Meal Prep Containers the best for this meal planning job? They have a divided tray and these bad boys can hold almost 4 cups of food! Perfect for Paleo! They’re also great for portion control with that little divider, because I would eat an entire canister of hummus if I let myself.
Being a work from home mom, these are also perfect to share with my little buddy who joins me twice a week in my home office. I can fill them with enough food to feed both of us.
The TakeAlongs® Meal Prep Containers are super easy to use and perfect for those of you who head into an office. The containers have a Quick Clik Seal lid, so you know they’re completely secure and won’t leak. You can find the large pack sizes at Walmart, making it a cinch to meal prep for the entire week!
The TakeAlongs® Meal Prep Containers are microwave-safe, top-rack dishwasher safe, and BPA-free. The best for busy mamas! Add them to your next Walmart order or pick them up in the store.
