Happy Easter week, everyone! I just wanted to stop in and say hi. It’s been Crazy Town, USA over here, and I feel like that is the constant state of my life for the past year. To be quite honest, I really don’t know when we’ll be moving out of that situation, so I’m just going to make the best of it and call it our new normal. As my Aunt Cindy likes to say, how about them sweet apples?
I also wanted to share some Easter weekend pictures since I’ve always documented every holiday we’ve celebrated a la blog style. I had lost my blogging rhythm (the little I had regained in January), but I’m fighting to get it back. So let me just recap our Easter really quickly, and then we can all go about our day, okay?
We went to Port Lavaca on Good Friday, made our traditional capirotada (a Mexican bread pudding), and then enjoyed a really nice dinner out that evening. Saturday was spent with family again, and we had our first annual crawfish boil. It turned out so delicious. My pregnancy has made my usual desire for crawfish diminish, but this boil was absolutely the best I’ve ever had. Right before our boil, we had an Easter egg hunt for the kids. Then Sunday, we celebrated the big day at church, and it was a beautiful mass. It sure did make me miss my Popo though. Easter was always his favorite. After mass, we went to my aunt’s house where we had barbecue and another Easter egg hunt. The kids ate it up, and we ate up the food. After that, it was time to go, but not before stopping to have dinner with my Dad.
The whole weekend was so jam packed with fun, it was exhausting. Charlotte has been such a handful lately, and I’m crossing my fingers that it has everything to do with her getting her last set of molars. Because then I’ll know that an end to her whining is near. Or maybe that’s just her temperament, but I’m praying to sweet baby Jesus that it’s not.
Here’s what I caught behind the lens.
I hope you all had the best holiday weekend that you could possibly have had. I still feel like I’m in recovery mode. Anyone else?
Do you have any special Easter traditions? I’d love to hear about them. My favorite is definitely making capirotada with my Momo.
Have a great day, friends!
Hope you have a wonderful day, friend! Are we connected? Don’t miss a thing!
