Hey, friends, hey! I am sooo super pumped about this year’s May Mom Style Challenge. I think this year’s style prompts are my favorite, and I cannot wait for it. I’ve already been cleaning out my closet, getting things in order for what will work this year.
THE WHY
So let’s backtrack. We started this 2 years ago when I was in a funk, deep in PPD. I was 6 months into the battle and was finally starting to feel like myself again. I needed a little extra motivation to make me feel like my best self, so I came up with this style challenge to get myself out of my pajamas. It was a real struggle some days, but it gave me something to look forward to.

I love my kids, but I missed that little part of me, that old, put-together self, that was hiding behind the word “mom.” I have always LOVED fashion. Fashion blogs and fashion magazines have always been my jam. Once I became a stay-at-home-mom, I thought my love for fashion was over, that I didn’t “need” to dress up anymore, and that I wasn’t *gasp* important enough to wear pretty clothes anymore.
I started living in leggings and loose t-shirts, and it was crushing my soul a little bit. Don’t get me wrong. I’m all for lazy pajama days. However, it was personally wearing me down. When you feel like something needs to give, then GIVE. Make the change, sister! You’re the only one who can help yourself.
A month of dressing up did my soul some good. And it did a lot of you some good, too. You told me so yourself. So we brought it back in 2018. And now we’re bringing it back for the THIRD time, and it makes my heart sing!
You are so worthy, capable, and loved for all that you are. Clothes absolutely do not define you. Neither does your body for that matter. But if you’re anything like me, and you like treating yourself every now and then to a new pair of shoes or a new pair of earrings and dressing up with some red lipstick, let’s celebrate it together! Not to mention, a calendar of what to wear so I don’t have to think too hard about what to wear for the day? Here for it!
MAY MOM STYLE CHALLENGE DETAILS
So here’s the deal. This year, I want you to shop your closet. We have a new Pinterest board full of style inspiration to get your wheels turning on how to revive some of the pieces you probably haven’t worn in years. Then create your own style board and repin what you love!
Join us this year, take a selfie, and add the hashtag #MayMomStyleChallenge. We want to see you owning it. If you’re not a mom and still would like to participate. PLEASE DO! You can also use the hashtag #GraceStyleChallenge.
Participate every day or a few days. Bottom line: HAVE FUN.
What I hope and pray you gain from this is to leave this month with a huge smile on your face, more confidence in your current clothes, and holding your chin up a little higher, buttercup.
Are you joining us? Be sure to follow along on Instagram where I’ll be sharing what I’m wearing each day and style inspiration for days to come. Let’s celebrate each other this month and always.
Love you, sisters!
