We are starting the week after a four-day weekend, and I think I’m ready to get back into a normal routine again. Charlotte turned seven on Sunday, and I cannot believe my little bug is already my favorite number. I remember planning her first birthday party like it was yesterday. This year, we kept it super simple and hosted outside of the house with a fun L.O.L. Surprise! birthday party theme. It was seriously the easiest birthday party ever!
L.O.L. Surprise! Birthday Party Inspiration
Since you all know I’m a last-minute kind of gal, I ordered everything from Amazon (God bless Amazon Prime), and I purchased the cake from our local HEB. Everything was so good! We also picked up a veggie tray and fruit tray from HEB, too. Here’s all we needed.

- balloons (the balloons & banner came together!)
- cake & cake topper (we only used a few of the cake toppers that came with this pack)
- plates
- napkins
- forks
- mini bottled water
- veggie & fruit tray
- birthday banner
- bonus: birthday outfit
So here’s exactly what we bought:
That’s it! Can you even believe it? And then all we had to do when the party was over was clean up there at the pottery store. Amazing!!! We brought home extra supplies and cake and the presents. I cannot express to you just how happy this made me, but most importantly, Charlotte loved every minute and so did her friends.
birthday outfit // birthday presents
We had let Charlotte pick out a few birthday presents before her party and it was such a fun trip to Target. Rarely do we all get a day off with only one child, and it just so happens that we had a day off with just Charlotte while Colin had school. It was super special. She picked out this jacket that went perfectly with the outfit we had picked out for her party. So super cute!
On party day, she was beyond excited to wear her new L.O.L. birthday outfit, all which she coordinated herself. I just can’t with my sweet girl sometimes, but she is nailing the outfits lately!
And you guys, I highly suggest The Potter’s Wheel if you’re local. They provide the activity of painting a pottery item of your choice. You bring in the simple decor and cake. Easy, peasy. The party was so much fun for the girls, and Colin got to join in on the fun, too.
Here are a few snaps from the day!
If you need an easy party location and super easy decor ideas, I hope this helps! I am so thankful to a friend who had a party here so that we could go in and do the same, and now we’re paying it forward. ;)
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend! Cheers to another year of life for my sweet, sweet girl!
