For the longest time, kitchen organization has been on my to-do list. Our kitchen cabinets have been quite the mess–no real sense of order and a thorn in my side. MEET WITH A DESIGNER
I shared in my Instagram Stories the consultation and some “before” photos, but I want to walk you back through how it all worked. The first thing I did was meet with my designer, Linda Creswell. She was absolutely the sweetest, so professional and so helpful.
With her visit came samples of the material used and the Glide-Outs themselves. I was so impressed! She then walked me through my kitchen asking me my pain points and what would be my dream solution. I told her three of my biggest gripes were 1) not having a storage space for my Kitchen Aid mixer, 2) not having an organized space for my spices, and 3) not being able to reach my baking sheets. My dream solution would be to have a place for everything. And an added bonus would be to not have to dig around for things in the back of my cabinet, like my toaster or CrockPot.
Linda then came up with easy fixes, measured and drew up a sketch on her laptop, and provided me with a quote for different options. She quoted every single thing she could come up with to help, then with my budget in mind, we came up with the final solution.
I loved Linda’s suggestions and knowledge on how my organization issues could be solved. Next up was the installation process.
PERSONALLY & PROFESSIONALY INSTALLED
Once we decided on the organization of each cabinet and shelf, she had her installer (a ShelfGenie professional) come out to get exact measurements. After that, he sent in the dimensions to the warehouse for my units to be built. ShelfGenie notified me by text up-to-date progress of each step. It was seamless communication!
And just so you know what we were working with, here are some BEFORE photos.
THE BEFORE
Here we have a static drawer. It had zero function, but there was space underneath to make it a functioning drawer. I was all for it! This is where they gave me the option of a spice organizer. I flipped! Probably my favorite part of the entire process.

And last, but not least, my baking pots and pans stuffed above my oven. I’m short, so reaching anything in there was a no-go without a stool.
Once my material was finished at the warehouse, it was delivered to Houston, and my installer setup a time for installation. I really cannot say enough about how easy they all made this process.
On the day of install, I cleared out my cabinets, and let Dave go to work. He worked quickly and efficiently, and I was so excited to see my kitchen get an upgrade behind the cabinet doors.
He then showed me how everything worked to make sure I knew how to take care of my new system, why the Glide-Outs were so special (they’re custom built), and the three-year to lifetime warranty.
It only took a couple of hours for install, and then it was up to me to organize my new and beautiful cabinets (and my spice drawer)!
THE AFTER
All my dreams came true with this one!
No more getting on the ground to dig around for my toaster for the kids’ breakfast. It’s the little things!
Can you even! It’s the best, friends! Everything has a place, including my spices and my mixer, and I can now reach everything with hardly any effort. Amazing!

I didn’t think I could love my kitchen anymore than I did, but I do now! It’s so fun to have everything organized.
