Somewhere between now and the last time I’ve posted here on the good ol’ blog, Charlotte has grown into a big kid. No, really. So much has happened within the last week, it seems like we have so much to catch up on. I don’t know about you, but we’re still trying to recover from an extra-long holiday weekend. Since the baby daddy had four days off, we were pretty much non-stop, then it carried over into this week. We have not really slowed down until today. I am feeling exhausted. Pair that with a summer cold, and it’s a wonder as to how I’m posting anything. I’ll let the pictures do most of the talking.
Let’s start with last Wednesday…
Purple Dress found at Sugar Bit (my new, favorite online baby boutique) |
She’s twice the size of her leopard spotted bear (we used him for her “by the month” pictures, and her super-fast growth blows me away), riding her little lamb all by herself, reading books to Mr. Bear, and coloring. I can’t even.
4th of July…
Charlotte’s outfit (worn as a dress) from Sugar Bit |
And of course, some fun in the sun…
Ruffle Butts Red Polka Dot Ruffled Rash Guard Swimsuit (On sale at Sugar Bit!) |
Pure joy in this little love of mine. Pure. Joy.
Saturday, we had a lovely Mexican dinner fiesta with friends. Sunday, we enjoyed a fun play date with more friends while daddy golfed (which meant more fun in the sun). Monday, it was back to business as usual; we went back to swim lessons after missing last week because of an ear infection. And Tuesday, it was a short road trip to visit one of the BFFs who just moved back from Cali, and what a sweet reunion it was.
But probably the most exciting news of all was this:
She’s walking, folks! Thank the Lord, my sweet little baby is walking at 16.5 months. If you’ve been following us, you know what a sweet victory this is for us. Monday night, she was playing on her little ride-along puppy dog, she stepped off of it after climbing on to it herself, she stood up, and away she went, walking to her daddy. MJ and I were in complete shock and filled with pure delight. It was such a great moment. She hasn’t stopped since. Now this is where the real fun begins, so I’m told! But I am definitely embracing this time with open arms. Thanks again to all who have prayed for my little babe. There is never a prayer that is left unheard or unfelt.
I hope y’all enjoyed a wonderful weekend. What’s been going on in your neck of the woods?
Take joy in the little things. Because it’s always the little things.
