There’s nothing sweeter than the innocence of a child. I love every single little thing Charlotte is doing right now. Each new day brings new discoveries and wonders. Charlotte shares her love indiscriminately and unconditionally, just like Jesus, and I don’t ever want to forget these little things.
I don’t ever want to forget…
I don’t ever want to forget…
…the way she
talks back to her “talking” toys; it’s the most precious thing ever. When her pink picnic basket says, “bye bye,” she’ll say it back, because my sweet baby is the most considerate person there is.

…the way she holds on to her stuffed animal babies. She holds them as tight as she can with all her love and affection.
…the way she
innocently smears her food into her hair without a care in the world. (Yes, that is a piece of
…the way she smiles when we tell her, “Smile for daddy!” Pure delight.
…the way she enthusiastically says hi and bye to the people waiting in line at the checkout counter or sitting next to us at a restaurant; there is never a smile that is not returned. The love of Jesus
that she shares floors me.
that she shares floors me.
…the way she greets me with a huge grin after a nap or when she wakes up in the morning. My face lights up as soon as I see her.
…the way she
jumps for joy when a fun tune comes on through the TV or radio. It lights up my heart every time.

…the way she
fiercely tries to get up and walk, even though she’s not quite ready to let go. She is trying so hard to be courageous.

…the way she falls and gets back up again. That’s right, sister. You keep getting back up.
The ways she lets people see Him through her is incredible. He has already filled her heart with His Spirit and love, and she is already sharing it with the world. It’s amazing how all of these little things teach me things that are so profound: to love a little harder, to live a little bolder, to enjoy each moment, and to keep getting back up even after I fall because I am a child of God. We are each filled with His Spirit, that same beautiful Spirit I see everyday in Charlotte. What a blessing. Even though I am in charge of teaching her the ways of the world, I am having so much fun learning all of life’s best from her.
“I will give thanks to You, for [she is] fearfully and wonderfully made; Wonderful are Your works, And my soul knows it very well.” Psalm 139:14 NASB
