A Spooktacular Halloween Party Spread

It’s that time, friends! Halloween is right around the corner, which means it’s time to start thinking about one of our favorite things: party food! Whether it’s big or small, kid friendly or for adults only, every Halloween party needs a spook factor or two when it comes to the food table. No matter what kind of spooktacular treats you’re serving, make sure to make it festive!

I have always loved Halloween, but I’ve loved it even more ever since I became a mom. My kids love any excuse to dress up and have a party, so they were all about our fun and festive spooktacular Halloween pajama party! I’m all about making memories, and we had a blast gobbling up our ghoulish treats.

Some of my most favorite memories from growing up are from times during the fall. I’ll never forget the year my mom dressed me up as a clown for Halloween, and I sweated off my painted clown face. Thanks, Texas humidity. That thick makeup still haunts me! But what I do remember loving the most was all of the yummy treats during this time of year, especially during Halloween: popcorn, candy apples, and more.

I want my kids to have the same type of memories. Here’s what our Spooktacular Halloween party menu consisted of: Spooky Witch Fingers, Nugget Graveyard, Ghoulish Ghosts, and Mummy Corn Dogs! Here’s how you can make the same for your little goblins.

Spooky Witch Fingers

Think chicken tender fingers reaching out of “bloody” seven layer dip. Bewitchingly delicious.

Items Needed

Crispy Chicken Strips

Refried beans
Guacamole
Sour Cream
Shredded Cheese
Chunky Salsa
Naturally slivered almonds
Ketchup
Small Bowl

Steps:

Prepare the frozen Crispy Chicken Strips as instructed.

Slice the strips vertically in half to create a thinner strip.

Place a dab of ketchup on the tip of the chicken and attach a naturally silvered almond as a finger nail.

Position five of the chicken “fingers” into a bowl of layered refried beans (cooked and cooled), guacamole, sour cream, shredded cheese, and chunky salsa. Let your guests grab some to eat…before the fingers grab them!

Nugget Graveyard

Tasty graveyard bean dip. A delicious treat your ghoulish guests will dig in to.

Items Needed:

frozen Chicken Nuggets

Refried Black Beans

Guacamole

Shallow serving dish

Sour Cream

Icing/decorating tool (thin tip)

Steps:

Prepare the frozen Chicken Nuggets as instructed.

Use sour cream to write “RIP” on each nugget with the icing/decorating tool.

Carefully place each nugget into a thick layer of the refried black beans. Add in a little guacamole to dress up each headstone – your guests will die for these!

Ghoulish Ghosts

Invite some of these friendly, but mostly cheesy, ghosts to your party.

Items Needed:

Chicken Nuggets

White American cheese

Candy Eyeballs

Steps:

Prepare the frozen Chicken Nuggets as instructed.

Cut out ghosts from White American cheese using a ghost cookie cutter and place on top of each nugget.

Cut a hole in the cheese to create a mouth. (I used a straw.) Now, this ghost can haunt with a proper “BOO!”

Place two candy eyeballs on top of the cheese to create the eyes.

Mummy Corn Dogs

Classic corn dogs, mummified with crispy strips of dough. A spooky snack on a stick.

Items Needed:

Frozen Corn Dogs

Refrigerated croissant dough

White American Cheese

Candy Eyeballs

Ketchup

Steps:

Cook corndogs half way according to the directions on the package and remove from oven.

Wrap corndogs with torn cheese slices & strips of dough.

Place back in oven to finish cooking, remove and let cool.

Add ketchup “blood” and candy eyeballs to serve.
