I recently started listening to podcasts, and I am loving them! I also started listening to audio books, and I’m hooked! A couple of months ago when we took our trip to New York, I had nothing else to do, so I downloaded some podcasts that I thought sounded inspiring. One by one, I gained a new perspective on an aspect in my life. For so long, I’ve been running scared or on empty. I’ve since realized it’s been my lack of faith in myself and my lack of faith in Him which has been my problem, and whoa Nelly has that been a wake up call! These five podcasts I’m about to share made me shake my head line after line saying, “Yep, yes, yep!” If you’re anything like me, a tired mom ready to change your life for the better, you might just want to listen to these today.
- For the Love with Jen Hatmaker — Emily Ley :: Creating Space for Joy with Simplified Living
- Then go read her book, A Simplified Life. Emily knows what us moms crave: a simple, full life. Her heart warming words will speak right to you.
- Brené Brown: The Power of Vulnerability
- This isn’t an official podcast, but it is a TED talk with a video, and I listened to it in my car while driving by myself on a recent road trip. Talk about tears flowing, sister! If you don’t see a therapist, she’ll make you think you should. This talk has been viewed over 34 million times! Best 20 minutes you owe to yourself.
- Oprah’s Super Soul Conversation — Brené Brown Part 1 :: Daring Greatly
- Sister, if you thought Brené’s TED talk was enlightening, just wait until you listen to this two part series from Oprah’s Super Soul series. So, so good! It’s all about vulnerability, courage, and the willingness to let ourselves be fully seen and known. Yes!
- Oprah’s Super Soul Conversation — Brené Brown Part 2 :: Living with a Whole Heart
- Part 2 is equally as good, and it’s where I first heard Brené recite the Parenting Manifesto that truly made me sob. Read it and weep, sister! Crying is so good for the soul. All of her books are now on my MUST READ list. I’m so looking forward to reading The Gifts of Imperfection, Daring Greatly, and Rising Strong.
- For the Love with Jen Hatmaker — From Turkey Burner to Entrepreneur :: Embracing Your Potential with Rachel Hollis
- I am so thankful I listened to this podcast. I had heard about her new book, Girl, Wash Your Face, here and there on social media, but after listening to her speak with Jen Hatmaker, I was convinced she was the real deal and ran to listen to her book! It has been a game changer! Never before have I felt like I have the tools I need to roll up my sleeves and get to work with my dreams because of Rachel’s pointers. I know you’ll feel the same way after listening to her talk and then reading her new book.
I am so thankful for these powerful emotional pot stirrers. I think any woman can greatly benefit from these faith-filled women’s words.
