Happy Friday, everyone! As I’m sitting here in my bed with my little toots sitting next to me, I can’t help but be thankful. Currently, I have an injured eye, but whatevs. A gnat flew into it yesterday when I went for a jog, and it doesn’t feel right just yet. I’m still thankful that I was able to go for a jog, able to push my jogging stroller with my big girl in tow, and able to enjoy the fresh air. It’s the little things.
Here’s what’s currently going on as we’re gearing up for the Halloween weekend…
ONE.
We’re gearing up for Halloween over here, and we have yet to buy candy, but I’m sure there will still be plenty to choose from this weekend at the store. Don’t you think? We always give the good candy, but I don’t know what we’ll do this year, because if we don’t hand it all out, I’ll most likely eat it all. #breastfeedingproblems
What do you hand out to your neighbors on Halloween?
In order to balance out the candy consumption that will be going down, we’ve also been eating a ton of fruit lately. Do you ever have so much fruit in your fridge that it goes bad before you eat it? I’ve found a solution!
I know this is probably one of those “duh” moments, but I just figured it out so I thought I’d share. Y’all ready?
CUT IT UP as soon as you bring it home.
I remember Rachel Ray suggesting this a long time ago in one of her books, and I’m sure there are plenty of smart people out there who do this already, but if you don’t, take the five minutes to rinse all your fruit (and vegetables), chop it up, and store it in your fridge. It has made lunch-making and snack time so easy! Nothing is going to waste now because it’s so accessible. Mom win!
TWO.
THREE.
Is it lame that we don’t dress up as a family for Halloween? Charlotte is the cutest every year; this was her last year as a monkey. She picked out her costume then, and she picked out her costume this year, too. Elena of Avalor anyone?
Also, I didn’t buy a costume for Colin this year for his first Halloween. That’s super lame, isn’t it? I did get him a little outfit with Frankenstein on it, so there’s that.
What are your littles going to be? Do y’all dress up, too? I can’t wait to see all the pictures throughout the weekend and Monday.
FOUR.
Yesterday was Charlotte’s Fall Fun Day, and she had a blast. I love that her school has this every year. She gets to play with all things pumpkins and leaves, and she never wants to leave. Even though it’s still a bit warm outside, we are loving this season.
I’ve been finding a bunch of Fall Scavenger Hunts, and I think we’ll have to do one soon. I know a few of my blogger friends have made some printables, and I think I’ve saved them to my Pinterest. Now I have to go find them!
FIVE.
In case anyone is wondering, this is how we dress for fall here in Texas: long sleeve t-shirts and shorts. I took this of Charlotte last weekend when the weather got crisp, and can anyone tell me where my baby went? Why do these kids have to grow up so quickly. Fastest three and a half years of my life.
Speaking of growing quickly, I took these pictures of my babes the other day, and they certainly have my heart.

But really. When did Charlotte turn into a giant?
In case you missed it, we made this fun snack mix and we’ll probably be making it again this weekend.
You can read all about it and see our recipe in the Kid-Approved, Fall-Inpsired Snack Mix post.
And if you didn’t catch the new post from yesterday, check out my formula to happiness and how to find yours.

I don’t dress up but I do wear Halloween themed clothes when I take him out. This year we are traveling 45 minutes to go to a Halloween area where there are games and trick or treating. It is in the town where I work so that will be fun. We made pumpkin pancakes this morning and then Monday Jack will have his Halloween party at school.
