I’m probably the biggest girly girl you’ll ever meet. I’m not very outdoorsy, unless you consider lunching on a patio outdoorsy. I’m not very athletic with the exception of running. What I am is very girly. I love anything having to do with beauty products, fashion, accessories, and pampering. With that being said, I have more makeup products than I’d like to admit. I’m close to being qualified a hoarder in that regard, but over the years, it’s only led me to the best of the best beauty products. I’m always on the lookout for new things, but what I’m about to share with you is my tried and true beauty arsenal. I’ve had a few of you (thanks, Chelsea) ask me for my beauty routine or what makeup products I use, so here are my absolute favorite things and what I use daily.
I’ll try and break everything down into categories just to make it easier for you. I’ve also provided a link to each item in case you just have to have something, because don’t we all need a little something new?
MAKEUP BAG
My sister got this for me for my birthday, and I love it! You could probably use this for a lot of different things, but I use it for my powder and lipsticks.
FAVORITE FACE BRIGHTENING EARRINGS
These really do make your face brighter. Don’t ask me how it happens, but they just do.
FOR THE FACE
These are my favorite things when it comes to taking care of myself and this face. I had a horrible reaction to pregnancy. Yep, you read that right. I’ve never had an acne problem until pregnancy and postpartum life. When dealing with that, I used the Rodan + Fields Unblemish line. It cleared me right up. Now that I’m back to my “normal” combination skin, I stick to washing my face morning and night, moisturizing daily, and that’s about it. These are my necessities.
Neutrogena Rapid Wrinkle Repair
Neutrogena Makeup Remover Cleansing Towelettes
I’ve tried the generic drugstore version, but the brand version proves to be better.
L’Oreal Paris Eye Makeup Remover
I do buy the generic drugstore version of this. It works just as well.
FOUNDATION
This is an absolute must-have. I have used every concealer under the sun, and this is my favorite. If I don’t wear this, my face looks like I’m sporting a cold. A little pricey but so worth it. It not only comes with a concealer, it has a pale yellow setting powder. Magic.
Hands down, the best powder I’ve ever used. I’ve tried using drugstore brands to save money, but I always go back to this.
CHEEKS
CoverGirl Classic Color Blush in Rose Silk.
This has been a favorite as of late. I’ve been out of my favorite Nars blushes listed above, but this CG blush has been doing just fine as a replacement.
I’ve had this brush for quite some time now. It was a Christmas gift years ago, and it is still in perfect shape. I’d say it’s a great investment brush.
EYES
I’m all about the neutral shades when it comes to eyeshadow. I’ve also been using the same color for years now. I usually swipe one of these and am done with it. I like what I like. Sometimes I go without eyeshadow and opt for just eyeliner and mascara.
I use this to curl my lashes before swiping on my mascara. I would love the Shu Uemura eyelash curler though.
I love using this as an eyeshadow. I use the Bronze and Gold Shimmer Brick, but I’m loving this limited edition Sandstone version.
Bobbi Brown Shimmer Wash Eyeshadow in Champagne.
MAC Eyeshadow in Romp and Dreammaker, both no longer being made. Boo. One is a gold shimmer and the other is a dark bronze. I would go with All that Glitters and Bronze to get the same everyday smoky effect of the two colors I consistently use. I’ll put this on for date night.
This is the best eyeshadow brush I’ve ever used, and it’s also the only one I ever use. Still looks brand new years later.
Maybelline The Rocket Volum’ Express in Blackest Black
I’ve tried all of the mascaras, including Dior Show, and this Maybelline mascara is by far the best one I’ve found. It’s a stickler to get off, but it is definitely my favorite of all time.
This little thing is like an instant face-lift. It’s a clear wax so you don’t have to worry about finding a perfect shade to fill in your brows. I love this thing.
LIPS
I have about a bazillion lipsticks, lip glosses, and lip stains, but I have three favorites right now.
Maybelline Baby Lips Dr. Rescue in Soothing Sorbet
My daily go-to.
MAC Lipstick in Ruby Woo.
It’s the BEST red I’ve found. And because of its blue undertones, almost anyone can pull it off. It’s matte and fabulous.
YSL Rouge Volupte in Fuschia Torbillon 31
Bright and pink.
HAIR PRODUCTS
My all-time favorite, and the scent is minty and fresh.
Head & Shoulders Smooth & Silky Shampoo and Conditioner
Because pregnancy and postpartum fun messed with my hair and scalp, I had dandruff similar to the girl in The Breakfast Club. This shampoo is the only one that got rid of it after one wash. Amazing!
The best curling iron. I like the 1″ to get the look of Kate Middleton curls.
I don’t have a favorite brush, flat iron, or hair dryer. All three of those things I do own, but they are old and could probably stand to be replaced. I usually straighten my hair because it’s the fastest. What I use now gets the job done, but I really miss my CHI Ceramic Hairstyling Iron. That was the bomb dot com. I don’t know why I haven’t bought a new one. Let’s add that to my ever-growing mental shopping cart.
MISCELLANEOUS
Favorite toothpaste: Crest 3D White in Radiant Mint
Favorite toothbrush: Phillips Sonicare Rechargeable Toothbrush
Favorite deodorant: Secret Outlast Completely Clean Deodorant
Favorite body wash: Philosophy Cinnamon Buns Body Wash
Favorite tanning lotion: Jergens Natural Glow Firming Lotion in Medium to Tan
Favorite perfume: Prada Infusion D’Iris Eau de Parfum
You definitely get more bang for your buck if you get the biggest size sold in 6.7 ounces. That’s what I have and three years later, I still haven’t run out. I scarcely wear my perfume though. I didn’t wear it but maybe three times the whole 14 months I was nursing. But this scent is pure heaven. It’s fresh and clean and light. Just perfect.
So there you have it. All of my daily go-tos and must-haves. If you have any questions about anything listed above, just give me a shout.

Loved reading this post! I’m also crazy with beauty products and I really try to limit myself lol! I use the Bobbi Brown foundation and love it. I forgot to get a new concealer and I’ve really been missing it! Thanks for reminding me how great it is!

Yay! Thanks, Kelly! :) Yes, I’ve been in love with Bobbi Brown for quite some time. I try to limit myself too, which is why I usually just stick with my favorites. :) Hope you’re having a great week!

So much to say!! But I love these kinds of posts. If you like the bronze/gold look, a UD Naked Palette would be your lover. Or the Lorac Unzipped palette! Also, Bobbi Brown makes amazing concealers. I still need to go back and repurchase the corrector – it’s my favorite for under eye circles!
Kristy says
I could talk about this for hours as I’m sure you could, too. My sister uses that UD palette and it always look so pretty. But all of my eyeshadows are still full, so I just can’t justify buying more. Lol. I’ll definitely keep it on my list for next up on the eyeshadow purchase. ;) I always love your makeup reviews! Keep them coming!

i love those makeup towelettes! xo jillian – stop by! I’m hosting two great giveaways for mamas on cornflake dreams

Me too, Jillian! I’ve tried several, but these feel the best out of all that I have tried. :)

Do you think Neutrogena wrinkle repair really works well?
http://Www.floralandfudge.blogspot.com
Kristy says
Thanks, Rachel! I probably should have elaborated on that one. I think it does work really well for sure. I’m 33 and already getting wrinkles. Gag. But this moisturizer has really minimized the lines. Before I used it, I felt like when I smiled, my wrinkles were looking pretty bad. Now that I’ve been using this for a few months, I’d say this has definitely made an improvement! I love it. :) And it’s not too expensive like most anti-aging creams can be. Definitely worth trying.

<3 your thoughts on the Prada perfume. I'm in the market for one.
Kristy says
Thanks, girl! It smells so nice. If you’re more of a sweeter, but not too sweet kind of girl, my second favorite is Stella by Stella McCartney. It smells like roses and vanilla, but is a little musky, too. It’s my husband’s favorite. ;)

Loving those earrings! I love turquoise… but they’re face brightening too?! No way!
What wonderful products and insights you’ve shared here. I’m pretty simple when it comes to makeup. Most days I just do my eyes (liner, shadow, and mascara).
Thanks for sharing and for linking up to the #SHINEbloghop.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.

Thanks, Jennifer! I have a ton of earrings, but these have become my go-to. :) I think it’s the bright color right next to your face that make your face brighter. It’s all an allusion, but a good one.
Most days I don’t wear makeup, because if we don’t leave the house, I get lazy and don’t get the makeup on. But this is what I use when I do leave the house. ;)
Have a wonderful weekend!

Pretty earrings! I love a good statement pair of earrings! Some beauty products I currently can’t live without is my Coastal Scents Revealed 2 eyeshadow pallet and my Revlon white eyeliner. I use it to line my waterline and it makes my eyes much bigger!
Kristy says
I have never tried of the Coastal Scents Revealed. I’ll have to look into that one. And I’ve seen tutorials about the white eyeliner and have wanted to try it. I definitely could use some help in that department.
Tiffany {A Touch of Grace} says
Alright. You are another person I need to teach me about makeup. I use Bobbi Brown’s tinted moisturizer and really love it. But I heard the Nars is even better so I’m thinking of trying that. But usually love all Bobbi’s products.
Thanks for the insight on Prada. I’ve been curious about it but haven’t been to the mall in a sweet forever to check it out.
Kristy says
Haha! I’m so simple when it comes to makeup. Bobbi Brown is my jam. NARS is where it’s at when it comes to blushes. And yes, the Prada perfume is my favorite right now. Ha! I haven’t been to the mall in a hot minute either. Good thing this bottle has lasted a lifetime! Lol. Have a good one, lady!

LOVE makeup. Love all things beauty. That perfume sounds right up my ally so I am gonna have to give that a test next time I am in Sephora. I am a Rocket mascara gal too. And Ruby Woo is my holy grail red.

Thanks, friend! The mascara and the Ruby Woo are my favorite. :) And the concealer, because mom eyes. ;)

I notice you use both drugstore & more-expensive lipsticks/lipglosses… do you find that it’s worth the money for the more expensive brands? I’m on a mission to find some perfect go-to lipsticks! — Lisa | Two Martinis
Kristy says
Hey, Lisa! I think that the department store lipsticks/lipglosses are definitely worth the extra expense. MAC longwear lipstain/gloss stays put all day long. I forgot to add that one to the list. But even the YSL color is so pigmented that it lasts and leaves a color on my lips even after eating. It’s awesome! If I’m just running daily errands, I’ll use my drugstore lip balms, but if I’m going out, I’ll definitely wear my other favorites. :)

Beauty products are things I would buy in massive quantities if I had buckets of cash :) But I’ve been searching for the best things in each category, and then I’m set. The Bobbi Brown undereye corrector is a game changer for me. I must always use that product! I use the concealer too, with it, but I find that for me, the correct must always be there, regardless of what concealer I use. Great round up! Have some new things to try now :)

Thanks, Alycia! Lol. I wear makeup 4 out of 7 days a week. Maybe. I’m pretty minimalistic, too. However, I like get dressed up every now and then. It’s fun! And yep, the 30s makes life more fun.
