Oh, hey friends! It seems like it’s been a while, but that’s only because I’m still over here trying to get my footing in our new house. Not up to speed? Last week, we finally moved and let me just tell you that moving with kids (and a dog) is the biggest challenge in the history of EVER. So for this month’s Daily Dime, let’s see what a day in the life looks like here in the new home, shall we? Let me just say, that it really looks no different than a typical day; there’s just a change of scenery.
Day in the Life Play-by-Play
5:15 am – Woken up my dog, Chapman. Get up to take him out. Back to bed.
5:45 am – Hubs kisses me goodbye as he leaves for work. Back to bed. With Charlotte in my back since she still is waking up and walking to our bed at night. (Nothing’s changed. She’s been doing this every night since March.)
7:45 am – Woken up by Colin. Grab a smoothie from the fridge for Charlotte and we both march upstairs.
8:00 am – Nurse Colin downstairs. Turn on TV to watch some Good Morning America.
8:30 am – Playtime for the kids. Coffee for me.
8:37 am – Baby food time for Colin. Charlotte feeds him until she gets distracted and he loses interest.
8:45 am – Breakfast for the rest of us. Raisin toast and a banana for me and the kids.
9:00 am – Playtime in the playroom. The messiest playroom I have ever lived with by far. I feel a huge purge coming on though. Stay tuned!
9:30 am – Time for Colin to go down for a nap. Change him, nurse him, grab him from inside of the bar cart/night stand, and down he goes.
10 am – Finally get out of my pajamas. Charlotte has already dressed herself by this point, so I’m behind. Now while Colin’s sleeping we get to work on unpacking more boxes.
11 am – Work a little bit. Respond to texts from family and friends.
11:45 am – Colin up from his nap. Change his diaper.
Noon – Nurse Colin in Charlotte’s room since she wants to play in there.
12:15 pm – Warm up some lunch (reheated pizza in the oven). Eat lunch. Feed Colin.
1 pm – Kids play in the living room. I do some blog work. Answer emails, send Tweets, work on some social shares on Pinterest. Turn on Brave for the kids.
2 pm – Back upstairs we go. More playtime while I sort through boxes.
2:30 pm – Naptime again for Colin. Nurse him, put him down for nap.
2:45 pm – Finish up unpacking a few boxes upstairs while Charlotte shows a matinee special to her Barbies via the iPad.
2:57 pm – Break for some sweet tea. Feed Charlotte some more pizza. Clean up downstairs and do some laundry while Charlotte plays some more.
3:30 pm – Back upstairs to playroom for more cleaning and organizing. Doorbell rings for minor home repair people.
4 pm – New neighbor drops by with brownies and saves the afternoon slump!
4:30 pm – Prep meat for dinner.
4:40 pm – Direct more home repair men to their assignments.
4:50 pm – Hubs home from work.
5 pm – Start cooking dinner. I’ll share this easy peasy recipe on Friday.
5:10 pm – Colin finally wakes up from his afternoon nap. Hubs goes to get him.
5:30 pm – Eat supper. Colin has some chicken nuggets but prefers our food. Charlotte doesn’t eat a thing as per usual.
6 pm – Get ready for a walk/run around our new lake. Michael cleans up the kitchen.
6:30 pm – Charlotte & Michael ride their bikes, while I push Colin in the jogging stroller while simultaneously try to run with Chapman.
7 pm – Back home from walk. Work on yard for a bit. Go inside.
7:15 pm – FaceTime my sister for the third time.
7:30 pm – Get Colin ready for bed.
8 pm – Nurse Colin and put him down for the night.
8:10 pm – Start moving furniture with Michael. Clear out more boxes.
9:35 pm – Finally put Charlotte to bed.
10 pm – I was supposed to shower, but opt against. Too tired.
10:30 pm – Fall asleep scrolling through Instagram.
And that my friends is a typical day in the life. We didn’t even go anywhere, and the day is completely exhausting for all of us. I’m hoping we get on track and on a schedule and routine soon that doesn’t involve unpacking boxes.
