Oh, hey friends! How’s it going? What a beautiful week it’s been. It’s time for another round of what’s currently going on in my world. A whole lot of goodness is all I have to say. Even though it’s been 105 degrees out here in Houston (I mean, really), we’ve been enjoying our days. We’re always praying, but we’re always loving. Now, on to the good stuff.

Loving…
My cut and color. It has been nine whole months since I last went to the hair salon. I don’t even know how that happened. The left picture is the before, and the right is the after. My hair looks really light in the before picture, but it was just the sun playing tricks. My hair had become really dull and frizzy, however, after a wash of color and a nice little trim, my hairstylist worked her magic yet again. If you are in the Houston area and need a new hairstylist, I highly recommend Melyssa at The Alan Murphy (Aveda) Salon in The Vintage. I’ve been going to her for the past eight years and love her. I’m a loyal one, I tell ya.

Watching…
This past weekend my sister and mom visited us, and my sister raved about Suits. She rarely watches TV, so that’s saying something. Have you seen it? It’s about some swanky lawyers who always find their way in and out of trouble. The suits themselves are nice to look at, too. Most of the seasons are on Amazon Prime.
Even though my sister may have just hooked me to yet another show, I’m still patiently waiting for my fall lineup to return. This trailer for Series/Season 5 of Downton Abbey has me thoroughly excited for its new season. Eeek! All four seasons are on Amazon Prime too, just in case you want to hop on the bandwagon if you haven’t already (or if you just want to relive the wonderful drama that is Downton). I know what you’re thinking though: “Kristy, don’t you know that Downton doesn’t start until January of next year here in the US?” Why, yes. Yes, I do. But thanks to this girl, I managed to watch with the UK peeps last year and plan on doing so again. Oh, happy day! Now are you excited for September 21, too?

Playing…
Heads Up! I first saw this game on Ellen’s show; it’s an app she created, and what fun it is. It is honestly the best game that you could possibly play with your family and friends. We’ve always been a game playing kind of family, so when my mom and sister were visiting, we pulled this little gem of a game out. It’s an app that costs 99 cents. I’d say it’s worth every penny and then some. What’s the game about, you ask? “From naming celebrities, to singing, to silly accents — guess the card on your head from your friends’ clues before the timer runs out.” Guessing games are my favorite. But wait, there’s more. It also saves a video of all the shenanigans as you play each round. Watching the videos back is even more hilarious. I would share a video, but my mom would just die if I did. So I’ll leave it up to you to make your own hilarious memories.

Thankful for…
A used BOB jogging stroller. I somehow just scored a BOB jogging stroller with the additional accessories of a handlebar console, a snack tray, and a tire pump, all for 100 dollars. If I were to have purchased all of that brand new, I would have paid over 400 dollars. Insanity. Considering that this is an additional stroller for us, finding a used one was such a blessing. Moral of the story: ask your friends if they have used baby gear they want to sell. If they don’t, they may know someone who does. It never hurts to ask. Being that I’m training for the half marathon, this is going to get lots of use. I hope Charlotte likes it.
The newest BOB jogging stroller and very similar to my new-to-me used one. |

Reading…
This devotional by Lysa TerKeurst.
I always love Lysa’s devotionals, but this one, this one was too good not to share. One of my favorite parts of if it was this, “…we’re instructed to be the light to those around us, ‘You’re here to be light, bringing out the God-colors in the world. God is not a secret to be kept.’ God wants us to let our light shine. This is His will. This is His plan. This is His instruction.” Go light up the world, people. Go light up the world.
And with that, I’ll bid you adeiu. Be sure to let us know what currently is going on with you. ;)

Stopping by from the Friday Favorites link up. Love your quote! Currently reading Unglued by Lysa Terkeurst for our book blub. Also love that you have a link page, we might need to do something like that. Have a great weekend :)

Girl!!! Your hair looks phenomenal! So gorgeous! I started suits and then life got crazy busy and I abandoned it!! I need a chance to just sit and get sucked in!!! I've also heard such fun things about heads up and am dying for the right group of friends to gather so we can really enjoy ourselves!
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Why thank you! :) Yeah, ever since my sister left, we have not watched it again. Too. many. shows. And too much going on. But I am looking forward to starting it again. And you will love Heads Up! It's hysterical.

Your hair looks so good! I went to the salon for the first time in months this week too. I was in the mood for a new look for fall! We love Suits! I actually mentioned them in my post today too. My little guy has two toy farmers that my husband and I always call Mike and Harvey. Ha! We might be watching a little too much of it lately!
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Thank you so much! I think the seasons changing is definitely a reason to pay some attention to ourselves. ;) That is too funny about Suits. I need to watch some more.

Ok, ok, ok. #1–105 in September? No way! #2–your hair looks fantastic! #3–you are a girl after my own heart! I love Downton Abbey and Scandal! Stopping by from The Peony Project!
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Lol. Yes, Sarah, Texas is Hades in the summer. It usually doesn't cool off until mid October. Sigh. Thank you so much for the compliment. Ever since I had Charlotte, my hair has changed TREMENDOUSLY. It makes me kind of sad, but nothing a trip to the salon can't fix. I wish I could blow dry it like they do all the time. We'll have to catch up on Downton and Scandal once they start. ;)
Abby Barstow says
I love your hair color! When I got pregnant I gave up coloring my hair and by the time my son was born my hair desperately needed colored back to blonde. It's so fun treating yourself to something after a long stretch of time like that!
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Thank you! And you are so right. I think I let it slip for so long because I was trying to grow it out. I had cut it pretty short in January, so it's no wonder it was starting to look scraggly. I had fun going to the salon. It's crazy what life becomes after a baby. But I wouldn't have it any other way. :)

Hey Brittany! Thank you so much. :) I am just counting down the days until the fall TV lineup returns. Can't wait!
Rachel says
Wait, Downton Abbey starts Sept. 21 in the uk? I'll have to find a way to watch it on their time! And that rich dark brown really suits you!
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Yes, Rachel! I think you can watch it as it airs through iTV's website if you have the right connection. I believe the link to how I will be watching it can give you further instructions. ;)
And thank you so much for the compliment!

Your hair look great! Very fitting for the fall. I cannot wait for Scandal and the new show How to Get Away With Murder! It's been hot here in Ga, but not 105. I love hot weather though, so I'd be perfectly content with 105 degree weather.
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Thank you! :) I want to see that new show, too! Shonda never ceases to amaze me. :) I'm hoping the 105 temps are gone for good. I love summer, but I love fall more. ;)
