Hello, beautiful! Welcome back to another edition of Currently. Here’s what’s going on in my world this week.

Thankful for…
My family. The husband made it back safely from Scotland on Monday, and this weekend we’ll be celebrating my mom’s 50th birthday again. Because this week was her actual birthday. I love these people. We are all about the celebrations.

Loving…
(Still loving) blogging. Next week will be six whole months of blogging for me here at Seven Graces. I can’t believe how quickly this has become my favorite new hobby. It has opened so many doors and started so many new friendships. I am so thankful. Yesterday was my first time to guest post, and I was so honored to share my 7 Tips to Being a Confident Mama at Moms Without Answers. Channing and Michelle are the moms who run that most fabulous blog, and I am so grateful to them for allowing me to share on their space. If you missed it, here’s the link.

Thinking about…
What I learned losing my iPhoto library. Yep, I’m still thinking about it. I thought about making this an entirely separate post, but I’m choosing to just talk about it here. In a nutshell, here is what I learned.
- Back that thing up. Just do it. Don’t procrastinate. I own an external hard drive and had failed to back it up. Shame on me. So let me be your example of what you don’t want to happen and just BACK IT UP.
- If you have more than one computer, save the pictures to both. This was a saving grace. When Charlotte was first born, we used an old laptop to upload all of her DSLR photos. We did this for about 4 months until we got a Macbook. All of her birth photos are still in tact and that made the sickness of it all a little bit easier to handle.
- Don’t feel guilty sharing your family photos all over the internet. Of course, be smart about it, but sharing and uploading to different sites is what saved me from losing some of my most precious photos. Granted, I didn’t share my entire photo library, but I did share the best of the best. And thank GOD for that. I had uploaded a ton to Shutterfly. They have the option of archiving your photos onto a disc, so you better believe I made that purchase. I also had posted all of the first holidays and Charlotte’s first birthday to Facebook. Thank you, sweet baby Jesus, for my ability to share. If you see me posting more pictures than ever, you now know why. It’s just another form of back up. I also have some very precious memories saved here to the blog, so thank goodness for that as well. Once I realized that I still had all of the most important events still documented, I could breathe again.
- If you’re not a Mac guru or a computer expert, step away from your computer when it fails you! Take it in to get worked on before you touch anything. This was my mistake. I thought Google could help me fix my problem, but all Google gave me was a false sense of confidence. It is then that I actually ended up wiping everything. No, mam. Never again.
- Don’t beat yourself up about a mistake forever. I was so sick about what I had done. I had a full fledge panic attack when it first happened. Dramatic? Probably. But a few days will put anything into perspective. Like I said last week, I’m choosing to count my blessings rather than my losses. And I’m giving myself some grace, grace in knowing that God was holding me tightly through it all. He does every single time I mess up. For every small thing that goes wrong (like this event) and for the big things, too, He is always there.

Watching…
Too much reality TV. Last week I said I was excited about fall fashion, but what I’m really excited about is the fall TV lineup. Because of the lack of quality TV shows on right now, I had to resort to E!. Desperate times call for desperate measures. This past week I caught up on all of my DVR’d episodes of Keeping up with the Kardashians. Why?! I can’t wait for Olivia Pope to return to my TV screen because someone needs to handle it.

Listening to…
New running songs. These songs may very well be old news to you, but they are new to me. And I am loving them. I usually listen to KSBJ, a local, contemporary Christian music radio station, but since I’m training for the Houston half marathon, I started perusing iTunes for some new running songs. This is what I came up with. These nine songs last about 25 minutes total and all have a pretty steady tempo. If you need some new tunes, these will not disappoint. Good music always makes me run a little bit faster, too.
There you have it, friends. That’s the latest and greatest. What’s currently going on in your neck of the woods?

YES!!! So true. God is so gracious to us, yet we are so ungracious with ourselves and others. Enjoy the weekend!

Yes!!! I love scandal!! I'm so glad you do too! Why oh why don't we love closer so we could have scandal dates and drink red wine! Haha

Umm, absolutely! I only started watching a little over a year ago when I was up all hours of the night nursing. I binge watched and am now all caught up. I think I need to rematch them. Oh, how I would love wine nights and girl time. :) Move to Texas! Lol.

Yeah, mine did too. I had a mild panic attack. But like I said, I had saved a lot to different places. Thank God for that!

Thanks, Elizabeth! I loved your advice as well. :) It really is liberating when we just let go and let God. Thanks for visiting!
