Hey, my peeps! Currently, this is what is going on in my world.
Thinking about…
I’m thinking about a bazillion things constantly, but currently, fall is on my mind: skinny jeans with boots, J.Crew cardigans, pumpkin spice lattes, our anniversary, cooler weather, crisp leaves shimmying to the ground, The Nutcracker Market, my birthday, Friday night lights, Thanksgiving. Be still my heart. When I think about fall, I also think about Christmas. (But I won’t get too ahead of myself.) I am gleefully happy just thinking about all of the fun things to come. Especially the jeans part and that I’ll be able to cover up my pasty, untanned legs. I love the season we are currently in, but I’ll be happy to say buh-bye (like Charlotte says it) to the blow-dryer, sauna-like heat that is Texas summer.
My little drooling baby during her first Halloween. She was only 8 months old. Cutest little owl I’ve ever seen. |
What will Charlotte be this year for Halloween? No clue. But you better believe I’ve been pinning like a mad woman. |
Reading…
I have about eight books patiently waiting to be read in my Nook library, along with 20 or more magazines. However, I have been reading Emily Giffin’s new book, The One and Only. So far, so good. I’ll let you know what I think after I finish it. But you might be waiting forever since I’m averaging about a chapter a week. Such is life.
Watching…
Have you guys seen Fixer Upper on HGTV? Oh my word. It’s the cutest, most beautiful renovation home show on TV right now, with a personal touch of family reality TV in the mix. In a nutshell, prospective buyers go to Chip and Joanna Gaines, renovators, realtors, and designers extraordinaire, in hopes of finding the perfect fixer upper. Chip and Joanna then work their magic. Recently, I saw an episode of them fixing up a 25 thousand dollar clunker of a home. You read that right. A couple bought a home for 25 thousand dollars. It was that bad. But given a renovation budget of 100 thousand, Chip and Jojo made it work. The results were amazing. The show is based out of Waco, Texas, too. Hello, fellow Texans! I’ve always been a fan of HGTV, with one of my faves being Love It or List It. But currently, this show is where it’s at. Joanna’s designs are to die for, and seeing this married couple work together is too precious. So good.
Loving…
Chick-fil-A iced coffee. Last week, we were so excited to attend our dear friends’ Premiere Night before the Grand Opening of their new Chick-fil-A store in The Woodlands. During Premiere Night, we not only had a chance to hang out with some of our favorite people, we were also able to try some new things at Chick-fil-A, including this goodness right here. I am loving this iced coffee! It is already sweetened and mixed just perfectly. I had been staying away from caffeine out of habit since pregnancy (I know; that’s an insane amount of time without caffeine), but this has made me step back into the coffee world. Well worth it.
Thankful for…
My little ragamuffin. She turns 18-months-old this weekend, and I’m going to be cliché and say, WHERE DOES THE TIME GO?! I’ll save all of her latest and greatest for next week’s 18 months post, but seriously. She makes my heart want to explode with gladness and love and all of the good things.
I mean, this face. Photo from my Instagram (@kristy7graces). |
So that’s all for now, friends. What’s currently going on in your world?

Yay!! Jumping in on the currently link up :):) I should pick up that book for my trip and fall.. Don't even get me started. I've been itching for it since the first day of summer! Fall is my absolute favorite season!! And fall fashion is my jam! Did I mention my birthday is next month?! So excited!!
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Yes, love all the Friday link ups and loving the Currently concept! So I thought they paired well together. :)
And yes, fall fashion is my jam, too. I hate shorts. Over it.
Yay for your birthday next month! You'll have to let us know the day so we can celebrate via blogland. :)
Have fun celebrating life on your vacation!
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Oh, and the book is great so far! It's set in Texas though, so I may be a bit bias. ;) I've been trying to read it since the day it came out. And I'm only on chapter 8! Lol

I'm on the waiting list at our library for Emily Giffin's book. Can't wait because I've enjoyed her other ones! I'll have to check out that HGTV show. $25,000?!? Sounds interesting! Also, do they have decaf for the iced coffee? It's tempting me! :)
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
I've loved every single book of hers so far, so I'm confident this one will not disappoint. The show is great! I'm sure you'll love it. They do amazing renovations! And I'm not sure about the coffee, but I wouldn't see why not. :)

Hi there! Just found your blog and I was really excited when I saw that you live in the suburbs of Houston – so do I! I'm in Katy, how about you? I need more local blogging friends!
Thanks for the HGTV and iced coffee recommendations! I haven't tried either but they look great!
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Hey, Kathleen! We're in Cypress, so not too far. I always love finding new blogging friends who are in the Houston area, too. :) I've also found new friends through events that Houston Moms Blog puts together. You should check them out. :)

I really need to start watching that HGTV show!! Everyone seems to be talking about it!

Yes, you do! You'll love it!

I need to try that iced coffee from Chick Fil A! I bet it's delicious, I have never had anything from there that I didn't like.
I love all of the shows on HGTV! I could watch it all day :)
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Hey, Leslie! Yes, it is so good. I also just tried the chicken wrap, and I'm loving that, too. Oh, and TV and I are just now getting reacquainted since I've let Disney Jr. in my life, but I'm making more time to unwind with the hubs by having TV dates. It's great!
Karra says
SO extremely jealous of your chicfila iced coffee.. or just chicfila in general. The closest one to me is in Nebraska? What…why. and fall… SWOON. I am craving it, bad!
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
What the? Now that is just sad. You can always go with Starbucks?? And fall. Oh, fall. Can't wait!!!
V @ X-tremely V says
She is so cute!
LOVE watching Fixer Upper! I stumbled upon it a month or so ago and watched a full day of episodes. They are such a great family and I love what Joanna does to a home! I think I need to move to Waco to be on that show! lol! She at least gives me lots of inspiration to decorate our house here in Ohio :) Glad to see someone else watches it too! I have been getting into Property Brothers as well!
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Thank you so much!
She has made me want to redecorate my own house, too. :) For a while, I've been thinking we need a new house, but I'm thinking a little sprucing up will do the trick. I bet she's inspiring all sorts of people! Lol.
Courtney [Sweet Turtle Soup] says
I caught the end of that exact one of Fixer Upper! I just saw the reveal basically, and only the last bit. All I remember is liking the blue! I watched whatever it was that came on next and enjoyed that too. It's been a while since I've enjoyed anything on HGTV, and I use to love it.
I am so loving everything fall! Early pumpkin spice latters are putting me right in the mood, and I don't even like them. They just scream fall though. Best time of the year.
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
About HGTV…Me too, Courtney! I used to love it, then I let it slip away, and now I'm loving a ton more shows. They are stepping it back up.
Seriously, fall is my favorite. Busy as all get out, but my favorite by far. :)
Sarah @ Seriously, Sarah? says
I didn't know that Chick Fil A had iced coffee! Yet another reason to go… :)
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Yes, Sarah! It's brand spankin' new. Be forewarned: it is addictive. But so much cheaper than Starbucks. ;)
Megan Pace says
Fixer Upper is the best! I love seeing old homes brought to life again, and I am a huge fan of Joanna's wardrobe too. I did not know about the Chick Fil A coffee – can't wait to try it!
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Isn't it an awesome show? I love how we get to see some of their family interaction in the show, too. It makes it so much more personable. Joanna is beautiful and her style is right up my alley.
Hope you're able to get an iced coffee soon. So good!
efficientmomma says
I just saw my first episode of Fixer Upper the other day (I'm so behind lol) and I'm hooked! So good!
Also, I've been thinking about fall too. Even though it's still August, it just seems like fall already. Maybe it's because school has started already.
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
I think I was behind, too. I just started watching it about a week and a half ago, but that's okay. Because now anytime it's on, it's a treat because they're all new to me. :)
Yep, the start of school always pulls the fall trigger for me. Maybe because the only thing being sold in stores is fall clothing. Even though it's still 100+ degrees over here. And let's not even talk about Hobby Lobby. ;) It's already Christmas up in there.
Kimberly says
Love that owl costume!! I love HGTV too. I like Love it or List it, but House Hunters will always be my favorite! :)

Thanks, Kimberly! :)
We love that show, too. I'm also loving the My Big Family Reno with Jenn Hatmaker. It's been great, but I think it's about to be over. I'm sure there will be lots of reruns though!
Jenna Guizar says
She is seriously the cutest owl! I concur! This post cracked me up. You're the second person I've seen from Currently who said to watch that show – I guess I better get on DVRing it :) ~Jenna
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Aww, thank you! With her being so cute last year, I have no clue what she'll be this year. :)
And glad I could make you laugh. The Fixer Upper show really is a new favorite. I just know you'll like it more than Breaking Bad. ;)
Traci says
I loooooove Fixer Upper! They are so incredibly talented and every home they do is not only fabulous but it ends up looking so infused with love and homey coziness. Did you see the episode where they go to Round Top? It is a definite must for me after seeing that she shops there!
kristyvmoreno@gmail.com says
Have not seen that episode yet! I have a lot on the DVR now, so I'll be on the lookout. :)
