Happy Friday! Every day this week has felt like a Thursday because each day has been filled with lots of fun. Hello, summertime! To be honest, I don’t even remember what happened on Monday. Thank goodness I take pictures to remind me. We have a jammed-packed weekend, so I’m going to make this short and sweet with the most important item on the agenda up first.
ONE.
It’s that time, friend! It’s that time to curl up with a good book. Now that we’re done binge watching Game of Thrones, I need to binge on some books. Will I get through all 12 of these books this summer? Absolutely not. I’m lucky if I finish a book in a month these motherhood days. But I’m hoping to get through a lot of them! Some of these books have been recommended to me by friends, and some I’ve had on my list for a while. And two of them are so new they haven’t even come out yet. I love chicklit and love stories, so I’m looking forward to diving in to these soon. Just click on the link to get a full synopsis and review of each book. (Affiliate links used.)
The Weekenders by Mary Kay Andrews
Here’s to Us by Elin Hilderbrand (Coming out next week.)
First Comes Love by Emily Giffin (Coming out at the end of the month, and I’m so excited about this one!)
The Coincidence of Coconut Cake by Amy E. Reichert
Who Do You Love by Jennifer Weiner
The Glass Kitchen by Linda Francis Lee (This author is one of my favorites: a Texas girl gone NYC.)
The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah (A love story set in France in 1939. And rated 5 stars on Amazon. Get in my cart!)
The Nest by Cynthia D’Aprix Sweeney (“Humor and delightful irony” about family siblings? Yes, please!)
Z: A Novel of Zelda Fitzgerald by Therese Anne Fowler (This has been on my list for a while!)
The Song Remains the Same by Allison Winn Scotch
The Year We Turned 40 by Liz Fenton & Lisa Steinke
One True Loves by Taylor Jenkins Reid (Another 5-star rated book and deemed the book of the summer.)
Maybe I’ll finish all of these by next summer. Never set your goals too low, ladies! What’s on your summer reading list?
TWO.
This is the first full week of summer that we just dived right in and did all the things, and I’m kind of loving it. I don’t know how much longer I’ll have all of this energy, but I’ll definitely take advantage. My third trimester begins at the end of the month, and I would be lying if I said I wasn’t a little bit terrified. I still am scarred by my third trimester with Charlotte. Anyway. These are some of my favorite snaps of the week. (First two from my Canon camera, the rest are iPhone.)
And that last picture is how I feel right about now. Oh, how I miss caffeine!
THREE.
I’ve started to use a new hashtag on Instagram, and I’d love it if you would add it to your list of hashtags to use. I’m all about life’s little moments that are beautiful to YOU. Let’s all celebrate each other and things that make us happy. I want this hashtag to be used to encourage one another and to put a smile on someone else’s face. Faith, family, and favorite things are the things you’ll be seeing from me, just like you see here on Seven Graces Blog. Can’t wait to see what makes up your life full of grace.
FOUR.
By now, most of you know that I took Charlotte to the movies for the first time this week. I wanted to share our Snapchat story from that day, because I want to remember it forever.
She was such a fun little date! We’re going to see Finding Dory next week, and I can’t wait to take her. However, I am a little nervous since we’re going to an evening show in 3D. We’ll see how that goes.
If you missed my tips for taking your child to the movies for the first time, you can find them HERE.
FIVE.
And I’m closing it out with this quote from Steinbeck. The older I get, the more I believe this. You just need to be good. Not perfect, not struggling to be better at all times, just good. Because your “good” is better than anything else you have to give. We’re all doing the best we can. And that is good enough. ;)
And that’s all, folks! Have a great weekend, sister!
