Happy Friday! It was just starting to feel like fall, then it got all humid on us. Don’t worry though. We have our rain boots at the ready. We won’t let a little bad weather rain on our parade, even if it will rain on it quite literally.
You know how some weeks are better than others? Well, we’ve had our fair share of really bad weeks over the last few months, but this week, this one’s been good. We’ve had a really great week thanks to God’s grace, good friends, and the love from family. Doesn’t get much better than that. Since I’m feeling happy about the change of seasons, I’m rounding up some of my favorite fall things as of late, so don’t mind me while I share some of the same pictures I’ve shared on Instagram.
ONE.
Wearing…
Hen & Co. cat leggings // Mini Melissa cat shoes
Doesn’t get much cuter than matching kimonos with my mini. We are loving these from Camden & Kate. But actually, it does get much cuter. Charlotte’s cat pants and shoes? Nailed it.
TWO.
Loving…
We are some bow fanatics around here, as you are probably well aware. We pretty much are always in Willow Crowns bows. But these four beautiful bows from Free Babes Handmade just graced our mailbox recently, and they are gorgeous! I love the prints and the make from this handmade shop. I can’t decide which one is my favorite.
THREE.
Watching…
A long time ago, I talked about our love for Disney movies. Nothing’s changed. Except we now have a new addition to our lineup. Arabian nights! Aladdin. I now have this movie to thank for Charlotte’s request every night for me to sing the Jasmine song, also known as, “A Whole New World.” Of course I sing just like her. Of course. I will say that Charlotte does get a little scared with this movie. She doesn’t flinch with Beauty and the Beast, but for some reason, she gets spooked with the roaring pyramid in this one. I skip those scenes and land straight into Princess Jasmine territory. Disney princesses can do no wrong in her eyes.
FOUR.
Thankful for…
I am loving and am so thankful for the First 5 app. Have you heard about it? Every morning after waking up, I usually grab for my phone. Now though, instead of scrolling through social media first or checking my notifications, I read the daily devotional set up for me through the First 5. It’s an app created by Proverbs 31 ministries, and each day, it shares one bible verse and a devotional dedicated to that verse. You can share your thoughts, read others’ thoughts about the lesson, or dig a little deeper. And how long does it take? Five minutes. You can also download a quote and picture like the one above with every devotional. This little app has made a huge impact on my day. I am forever grateful for it getting my mind right each morning. It really does make my day better.
FIVE.
Baking…
I made this delicious pumpkin bread during Mother’s Day Out time this week, and it’s the best thing ever. It’s not too sweet, completely moist, and even better with butter on top. Thanks to my friend Traci for the recipe! I halved the original; this will make one 9X5 bread pan loaf:
INGREDIENTS
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 3/4 cups flour
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. all spice
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup pecans (optional)
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup water
8 oz. (1 cup) pumpkin purée
1 3/4 cups flour

1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt
1/2 cup pecans (optional)
2 eggs
1/2 cup oil
1/2 cup water
8 oz. (1 cup) pumpkin purée
DIRECTIONS
1. Pre-heat oven to 325 F degrees.
2. Mix dry ingredients.
3. Mix liquid ingredients.
4. Combine.
5. Grease & flour bread pan. Pour entire mixture into bread pan.
6. Bake for 1 hour and 25 minutes.
7. Cool for 10 minutes, remove from pan, then wrap in foil to keep moist.

And that’s a wrap! I hope you have the most wonderful weekend despite the weather if your weather is anything less than perfect. You can always make your own sunshine no matter what. ;)
Let’s keep in touch, shall we?

That app is great! I wish I liked pumpkin because that bread looks yummy!
Kristy says
Replace the one cup of pumpkin with one cup of mashed ripe banana, and you have yourself some amazing banana nut bread. ;)
Tiffany {A Touch of Grace} says
Baby girl got scared a bit the first time she saw the (as she calls it) “sand cat.” She’s going to be Jasmine for Halloween. So cute! Love you two in the matching kimonos. They are adorable. And I really need to get more bows for A’s hair. It’s always in her face. Have a great weekend dear!
Kristy says
Haha. Yes, it’s a tad scary. I can’t wait to see pictures of your little Jasmine! Charlotte is going to be a monkey, and she asks to wear her costume every day.
And thank you! Hope you have a nice weekend over there! :)

Seriously. They have the most beautiful bows! Maybe we could start a bow exchange service like that program Rent the Runway. I think I’m on to something. ;)

LOVE that kimono! Adorable. Those bows! Perfection.
Kristy says
Thanks, Leslie! Hope you had a great weekend!

I want every single Free Babes bow. Really. I can’t decide which to order because I want them all and of course I want matching. But, I also don’t want to make us homeless sooooo :p
We really want to introduce Aladdin to Abigail but I’ve wondered how she’ll handle it too. We haven’t really done any of the Disney movies with really scary characters other than The Little Mermaid, so I’ve been a bit hesitant to show it to her. I think I’ll just get it while it’s available and then introduce it to her when we feel like the time is right….I don’t know!
Kristy says
Girl, you and me both! And yes, they are cute, but definitely don’t break the bank. ;)
I was surprised that C got scared. She doesn’t flinch when we watch Beauty and the Beast. Or any other movie for that matter. I think she’s starting to realize what “scared” is though after reading so many Halloween books. My bad. Definitely keep this one on standby though. You don’t want it going back into the vault. I’d say this would be a great Christmas gift! :)
Ashley Dorey says
It must be the “fall” in the air! We had a great week too! We’ve watched bits and pieces of Aladdin, when it’s on Disney Channel. It’s one of my favorites!
Love those bows! I just started following Free Babes on Instagram and they’re all so cute!
Kristy says
It really must be. Even with a fall cold, I am just bound and determined to enjoy all the fall things. :) Hope you have a great week, Ashley!
Sara McCarty says
Oh, I love those cat leggings and the bows! I want to order some but it looks like she’s out of stock on most of them. Fingers crossed she restocks soon. We just got Aladdin too and I can’t wait to watch it with the kids soon. And that bread looks amazing!
Kristy says
Aren’t they so fun? I love them! I would ask her on Instagram. She’s really good at responding. ;) Hope you had a good weekend!
Colleen says
The cat leggings and cat shoes are just TOO cute! I love them! We snatched up Aladdin last weekend and I’m so glad we did, because Owen loves dancing around to it! Have a great weekend!!
Kristy says
Aww, so fun that he dances around to it. :) Hope y’all had a good weekend! And that you’ve finally caught your breathe from TWD. ;)
XO Kerry says
Love the cat leggings! Thanks for the recipe. I’ve been looking for an easy pumpkin bread recipe! :)
Kristy says
Thanks, Kerry! It really is easy for being homemade from scratch. Now off I go to make another batch. ;) Hope you had a great weekend!

Stopping by from H54F. Those bows are adorable. Aladdin is a favorite movie in our house, too! I was always a little afraid of that cave as a kid, but nothing traumatizing ;) Hope you had a great weekend!

Hi Mariah! Thanks so much. I didn’t even remember the scary parts, but we just fast forward to the good parts, and she’s a happy camper. Hope you have a great week!

Those cat leggings! I’m so in love. I wish they made them in adult sizes!
Kristy says
Aren’t they cute, Jenna? I wish they came in adult sizes, too. I always feel that way about her clothes, or actually, just the same pricing and cuteness would be great. ;) Hope you have a great week!
