Eeek! It’s Friday again! And somehow, even though we have another jam-packed weekend lined up with family, it finally seems like things are about to slow down a bit. I don’t know if you’ve noticed, but I’ve sort of made this blog into my part-time job. Sometimes it’s completely exhausting, but it’s such a fun venture, and I’m so glad it’s going in the direction I have always wanted it to. However, that’s a post for a different day. Let’s talk about what’s really going on this week.
ONE.
Excited about…
our trip to Cancun! Last week, M booked us a trip to the Hyatt Zilara Cancun for mid-July. We haven’t been on a vacation by ourselves since 2012. I am so absolutely thrilled to be getting away! It will definitely be good for us. I’m just hoping no hurricane or tropical disturbance ruins our plans.
But that has me really watching what I eat now. Because you know that whole body image thing that tells us we must look like a skinny supermodel in order for us to feel confident in a bathing suit? Yeah, I have that going on right now. Why? Why do I need to see a certain number on the scale so I can feel comfortable in my own skin? I guess it’s because I actually feel better when I weigh less. I guess. This topic is way too heavy for a Friday. Just know I’ve tried to limit my ice cream intake. To be healthy.
Ugh. It’s so stinkin’ hard, because these pie pops are too good to be true. If you’re not on a slim down right now, definitely look for these in your local grocery store. Amazing.
TWO.
Still excited about…
all the Disney classics. Remember last week when I talked about this? Well, a lot of you mentioned wanting Aladdin. Great news, sister! Aladdin is coming out of the vault this October. You can even pre-order right now! You might have already seen this news when I shared it on Seven Graces’ Facebook page, but I just had to mention it here in case you missed it. Here’s the link to get your copy.
Another tidbit of information for all my Disney classic movie seekers: If you ever see a UK edition Blu-Ray for sale on Amazon, I’m pretty sure it will play just fine for you on your American Blu-Ray player. The reason it will play is because the region is set to ALL regions. That means you can still get Beauty & the Beast and The Lion King for cheap. If I’m wrong, let me know. Otherwise, enjoy!
THREE.
Loving…
watching this little girl use her imagination. She is still fascinated with toys she has had since before she turned one. I love it! This Little People A to Z Learning Zoo is still one of her favorites.
And for those of you who asked about our black and white foam blocks (after seeing this picture on Instagram), I built my own play mat for the exact dimensions I needed. We love this thing. Since we have tile in our living room, this mat has served its purpose well. I even vacuum over it. You can find these and build your own foam mat at SoftTiles. They have a ton of colors and options. We searched high and low for the perfect tiles, and I loved the fact that I could tailor it to fit our style and our dimensions. Maybe I’ll do a blog post soon on our pseudo-playroom, also known as the far end of our living room.
FOUR.
Playing in…
the rain. Why is it raining again? I thought it was time to retire the Hunter boots, but nope.
Funny story about our week in the rain: We thought we were ready to say sayonara to it. We took our time getting dressed on Thursday, you know to get out of the house for our errands as per usual. This is what getting ready slowly looks like, by the way.
Someone mocking me as I try to reprimand her for throwing her fork. (And when she says fork, it sounds a lot like a certain curse word. For the love.) Anyway, she mirrors my “look” that I give her when I’m getting after her. Can we say future actress?
She laughed immediately afterward. And so did I. I’m in so much trouble.
When we finally escaped the house and arrived to the Mothership, I noticed some clouds and heard some rumbling from the sky, but I didn’t think anything of it. Mind you, at this point, nap time was looming.
Once we were inside and had the one thing we were there for in our basket, both Charlotte and I and every other mom in Target heard the rain, the rain so loud that sounded like tap dancing on a tin roof. Dang it. We were stuck. There was no way we were going to run to our car in the “sideways rain,” the rain that Forrest Gump talked about. So we waited. Of course that meant that Little Miss wanted out of the cart.
And away she went! “Thunder, where are youuuuu?” She screamed that for a good three minutes.
Once that got old, I took her to Starbucks in the store to get her a treat. Thank you sweet baby Jesus for a Starbucks in our Target. She chose the biggest chocolate muffin there ever was. My baby ain’t no fool.
She devoured it. Nap time of course was pushed back. We eventually made it home, and she slept a solid two and a half hours, something that rarely happens these days. Moral of the story: sometimes good things come out of storms.
FIVE.
Thankful for…
this guy. The guy that made me a mother and made all my dreams come true. I really think that dads don’t get enough credit. He likes to stay behind-the-scenes, but I just love him to pieces and could sing him praises all day long. I am so thankful for him, and I hope he has the best Father’s Day.
And that’s a wrap! I hope you all have a great weekend. See you here next week.
Let’s keep in touch, shall we?

Haha that look C is giving you! She’s like a mini you, I love it! I’m so excited for you guys getting to go to Cancun! Adam and I were talking about how close to Mexico you guys are and how sweet it would be to even just go for a weekend trip. A trip to Mexico for us has to be at least a week (because of travel time and cost). Have a great weekend :) XO

Oh, girl, it was something else. Now she does it all the time. I’m in so much trouble.
Yes, I think Cancun is only about a 3 hour flight? I’m not too sure, but I know it’s not long at all. Just another reason for y’all to one day move to the states. :)
Hope y’all had a wonderful weekend and a great anniversary! Xoxo
