Currently Confessing | Vol. 37…When the Going Gets Tough

Oh, man. What a week. When the going gets tough, the tough get tougher. Isn’t that how the saying goes? I don’t know why my family doesn’t have a reality show, but we really should. All I can say is thank you from the very bottom of my heart for praying for my grandpa, my Popo, Deacon Al. He is slowly healing and being released from the hospital today, and what a blessing that is. He still could use your prayers as he recovers; the prayers are felt and appreciated more than you know. With that, here are a few highlights from the week. 

ONE.
Grateful for…

all the love. Continuing on with what I was just saying, I have truly been blown away by all the thoughts and concerns for my family. You have made us feel so loved. To all of my friends, thank you for being so supportive. You know who you are. ;)

TWO.
Listening to…



Francesca Battistelli’s “Holy Spirit.” I’ve spent a lot of time on the road this past week, and when Charlotte wasn’t watching Frozen, this song was on repeat. Literally. There are some songs that just fill my soul with so much comfort, and this is definitely one of them.

THREE.

comforting Bible verses. When times are tough, one thing I like to do is point my mind to God’s word. Ephesians and Isaiah have been my favorite. What are some of your favorite Bible verses when you have an anxious heart?

Loving…



laughs with my family. Please tell me y’all have seen the Dubsmash app, the app that lets you act out movie lines? Even though we had some pretty stressful moments this past week, we also had some down time to enjoy each other’s company. My sister and I crack each other up over pretty much anything. And since my family is obsessed with movies, we made this and sent it to our family’s group text. Majority of my family has made one, and every single time I see a new clip, it cracks me up. Laughter really is the best medicine. P.S. Pretty Woman is one of my all-time favorite movies, and I could probably quote the entire thing. 
FIVE.
Thankful for…
a resilient toddler. Gosh, this little girl cracks me up, too. She was such a trooper all week and just went with the flow. I’m usually a stickler about nap times and bed times, but this week was an exception. Charlotte was happy to do whatever we needed to do. She never really cried, fussed, or had any meltdowns. She just liked hanging out with the family and acting like a big kid. Makes my heart so happy. Now that we’re back home, she’s back to her usual shenanigans. She’s loving putting on her own shoes, like her rain boots, and she is loving singing “Let It Go.” Except those three words are the only words she knows to the song. If she would let me record her, I totally would. She’s talking up a storm these day, too. Chatty Cathy should definitely be her new nickname.

Charlotte and I got back home Wednesday evening, and now it’s back to Mount Laundry. I feel like I have so much to catch up on around the house and especially with the blog. Thanks for giving me some grace as far as posting and replying to comments and emails. I promise I will get back to a normal schedule soon and get back to all of you.

And in case you may have missed it, I was on Houston Moms Blog this week with a new post about finding your style after baby. I mentioned it on Monday, but Monday wasn’t the greatest of days. Since today is Friday, I’m reminding you again just in case. ;) I would love it if you hopped on over to read that if you’re in need of a laugh.
