I have never been so happy to see Friday. I take that back. I’m sure there have been plenty of times I’ve been happier to see a Friday, but you know. Dramatics. If you follow us on social media, you might have caught that we were in an accident on Wednesday. Buzz kill to the say the least. Charlotte and I are completely fine, but an accident shakes you up, both literally and figuratively. I sulked, cried, and whined (or wined), and now I’m back to my positive self. Thank the Lord! Other than that, we had a pretty good week. Here are some favorite highlights in pictures since last Friday.
ONE.
Favorite iPhone Pics of the Week…

Texas weather is kind of coo coo for Coco Puffs. Last Friday it was pretty cold and rainy for these parts, necessitating a jacket and Hunter boots. Even Charlotte kept saying, “cooold.”

Saturday was a lounge day. Clearly.

And let’s just talk about the crib crew for a minute. This picture does not even do the latest crew justice, but I’m in love with this picture in particular. I know this might freak out some parents, for a crib to be so jam packed with stuffies and pillows and blankets. But my child is almost two, and she loves her babies. She even loves her books. The other night she wanted to sleep with a book. A book, people. Is that normal? Only my child.
And last but not least for the iPhone pics, let’s talk about mom hair. I normally wear my hair pulled back in a pony tail. I will fix it if we go to a playdate or class (most of the time), but this day I wasn’t feeling like straightening, curling, or pony-tailing my hair. So I braided it. I realized two things by doing this: 1) I need longer hair. 2) I need thicker hair. What’s your favorite mom-do?
TWO.
Favorite Night of the Week…

Date night at Peli Peli. Thanks to our lovely neighbor and best babysitter, we were able to have a night out at a South African Fusion restaurant. It was delicious, but I ate entirely way too much. The fried buns with filets was the richest meal I’ve had in a very long time. I almost ate it all. Almost. I had to save room for dessert.
THREE.
Favorite Grocery Haul of the Week…

Trader Joe’s, y’all. Last Sunday, we took a drive to our nearest Trader Joe’s. It’s about a 40 minute drive, but so worth it. However, I’m absolutely thrilled that we do not live closer because we would spend a small fortune at this place. Once every few months is fine by me. The Cookie Butter ice cream was good, but I could live without it. We tried quite a few new marinated meats, and all were delicious. The Korean Short Rib and Carne Asada were my favorite. We also tried the Buttered Chicken frozen dinner cooked in the oven, and it also was pretty good. Now we have the rest of this basket to eat. Where did my Paleo willpower go? What are some of your favorite Trader Joe staples?
FOUR.
Favorite Fancy Camera Photos of the Week…

This little face. It was cloudy so the lighting wasn’t great, but with a little editing, this picture is a new favorite. Anyone remember Red from Fraggle Rock? Charlotte even acts like her, too.

It started to warm up on Tuesday, which means we have spent a lot of time outside. Baby, too. Charlotte was serious because she was trying to listen to the birds chirping and the dogs barking.

The more I look at this picture, the more I could cry. This was taken the evening after our very eventful day of the accident. No bumps, bruises, or sadness. Counting my blessings for this smile.
FIVE.
Favorite Moment of the Week…

My absolute favorite moment of the week was this. Monday, Charlotte and I were headed to HEB to grocery shop like we usually do, and as I opened my door to grab my ginormous purse, Charlotte saw this CD we picked up from church. She pointed to the man on the cover and said, “Hi Jesus.” She said it so casually as if she sees him every day. This was a first for her. She has never pointed to him by herself. I’ve always prompted her to say his name or to point out who he is. This moment is definitely one I’ll remember forever. My heart swelled with pride and tears of joy filled my eyes. If there is one thing I want to do as a mother, it is to teach my daughter who Jesus is. I think I might be on the right track.
There you have it. My favorite moments, currently. What have been some highlights in your week?
I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and if you watch the Super Bowl, may your appetizers be scrumdiddlyumptious. Thanks for reading, sweet friend!
Don’t miss a thing. Follow along on…
You can see where I’m linking up on this page.
So glad you all are okay! Such cute pics from the week! I have been looking for a new mom hairdo too… It seems like it is alway in a ponytail :/ Have a great weekend!
Thanks so much, Keri! Ponytails for the win! Lol. I’ll start looking on Pinterest again for more mom-dos and share if I find any good ones. ;) Have a fun weekend!
And it’s back to the crazy Texas weather again tomorrow! I think your braid looks super cute. My hair is definitely still too short. Last spring/summer I really got into splitting my hair in two low pigtails and wearing a hat….I’m kind of looking forward to that again! We will be in your neck of the woods this weekend as I’m taking my niece to the American Girl store for a birthday treat. Have a great weekend!
Thanks, Shelly! I need to try more hairstyles, that is for sure. That sounds cute with the hat. I wish I could just pull off more hats other than a baseball cap. ;) Have a great time at the American Girl store! I’m sure your niece will love it!!!
So glad you are both okay! You guys are the cutest in your matching Hunter boots :) Hope you have a great weekend!!

Thanks so much, Kelly! I love when we can coordinate our outfits. Y’all have a wonderful week, too!
Love all of your pics! Have you done a makeup and skincare post before? I will scroll through and look, but you have the most beautiful skin…would love to know what your routine is!
Girl, you are too sweet! No I haven’t. There’s really not much to it. I use Neutrogena face wash morning and night along with my favorite moisturizer that I can’t think of the name, and really, I just credit my makeup. ;) Maybe I’ll do a makeup routine. Thanks for the topic! Hope you and Jack and the rest of the crew are doing well! Have a great weekend, friend!
Oh, and let’s not forget the best editing apps! That helps, too! Ha. :)
She is seriously too cute! Looks like you had a great week! Also, Trader Joes is the best. I recently started shopping there and I fell in love!
Thanks so much, Natalie! We had a good week minus that little accident, but all is going well now. :) Trader Joe’s is definitely awesome, and I’m glad we made the trip. Hope you had a great weekend!
Your sweet girl is seriously the cutest! I absolutely love her name, too. What a classic, beautiful name. Trader Joe’s is one of my favorite places ever! Cheap, beautiful bouquets of flowers are always a must when i’m there so is Cookie Butter (I even found a cookie butter cake recipe that is to die for). I also must always have the Trader Joe’s French Vanilla Coffee and the apple chicken sausage.
Thanks so much, Leslie! We love her name, too. We wanted something classic and beautiful, just like you said. ;) I’ll have to try that coffee next time we go, and the apple sausage chicken sausage. Always looking for other great items so thanks for the tips! Hope you had a great weekend!
You’re so welcome. I hope you have an amazing day!

Thanks, Karra!!! I’m sure you could still rock a braid. ;) Your hair is probably my length.
OMG! Isn’t today your due date?! EEEEEKKK!!!! Can’t wait to see your new little baby girl!

I love these pictures. Living near a Trader Joes is bad news. We go there once a week and it is crazy :) I hope you found everything there.. THey have some really good stuff.. What is your fav?

Thanks, Chelsea! We still had to make our regular trip to our normal grocery store so we had a double whammy last week. :/ But it was worth it! I think my favorite thing we buy is this flatbread pizza (I can’t remember the name), and the Joe’s O’s pasta for Char.
Thanks for the Trader Joe’s report! Ours is opening in a few weeks, and I can’t wait. Although I’m sure I will spend way too much money there with it being so close to our house. :)
Get ready! You can find some good deals, but the bad thing about it for me is I tend to double up on everything since we don’t go that often. Hope you had a great weekend, Tanya!
It looks like you guys had a fabulous week!! Charlotte is so adorable in those “fancy camera” photos, not that she isn’t in all her other photos! I sure wish we had a trader joes around here…I’m sure is find all kinda of fun things there!!
Have a fabulous weekend, my friend!!
Thanks, girlfriend! You certainly can. Love that place. :)
Hope you had a great weekend!
Awww, what precious and awesome moments but the last one… it just made me a puddle. Isn’t it amazing when we see our children recognizing Jesus? My youngest today was pretending to “read” my Bible and she was saying things like, “Jesus loves Daddy and Mommy, and me! Jesus is in my heart.” It was beautiful… and it made me think just how clearly they see Him.
Thanks for sharing.
Wishing you a lovely weekend.
xoxo
Thanks, Jennifer! Yes, it was the best feeling in the world. I only hope it was the first of many of those types of recognitions. That is so precious about your daughter, too. Aren’t these children just the greatest gift? Hope you had a great weekend as well.
eeeee I love all these pictures! and you're rocking that braid! I miss my long hair for braids!
I like your favorite moment of the week. Your daughter is adorable and precious.
Thanks, Ashley! Have a great week ahead!
Somebody may just be raising a bookworm! I love that your little one sleeps with her books sometimes! My little one loves books, but she hasn’t yet wanted to sleep with one yet.
That restaurant sounds amazing! I wish we had a South African Fusion restaurant near me. Maybe I’ll google to see how far the one is.
I sure hope I’m raising a bookworm. :) That would not disappoint me in the slightest. That was a one time request, but she loves reading like it is the greatest thing ever.
The food was great at that restaurant. I would definitely look into it. Hope you had a great weekend, Emma!

ok you are just beautiful :) I love the side braid but I had the same problems as you when my hair was long… now it’s just not long enough at all :(. Love all of the photos, Scarlett sleeps with a ton of stuffies, blankets and pillows too… I don’t think it’s a big deal at two :)
Aww, thanks girl! Your hair will be long enough in no time, and then you’ll have all of these problems again. Haha. And yes, she sleeps with a jungle in there. Lol.
I hope Scarlett is feeling better! We’re battling the sickies, too. No fun.
I missed that you had an accident! So glad you are okay! I like the braid :) My go to hairstyle is a bun but I only have about a 3-4 week window after I get my hair colored where I can pull it off. Otherwise, the greys peek through :)
Yes, Meg, it was awful. But so thankful to be okay! It was minor, but you know there is just never a good accident.
I need to try the bun again, but mine looks like a little puppy’s tail that was cut off. Lol. Definitely need to find some new go-to hairstyles. And let’s not even get started with the grey hairs. I rock those like they’re highlights. Lol.
These pictures are so wonderful! She’s so cute. :) And I absolutely LOVE the “Hi Jesus” story. How sweet! <3
Aww, thank you so much, Jayme! Seriously, I really did almost faint because I thought my heart was about to explode. She is such a sweet girl! I don’t know how I got so lucky. :)
I hope you had a great weekend! Have a blessed week!

I can see from your pictures how do you enjoy your motherhood and life generally.o) Your girl looks so sweet. God bless you.
Thank you so much, Anna! I really do enjoy it! Blessing to you as well!

I love love love your writing style, I seriously feel like we’re chatting over the phone or something! Love all these photos, your daughter makes me laugh and smile so much. She’s hilarious and would be a great fit with my 2 year old son, they can be strange and cute together hahaha. Mom hair…the topic depresses me because it makes me think of how my hair looks on most days. In a high bun. But not a cute ballerina bun…like a I-don’t-have-enough-hair-for-a-bun bun with flyaways all around my head. Your hair on the other hand – cute! I like the braid! And I’m seriously so glad you guys are okay, I can only imagine how much it would shake a mother’s heart up to her core to be in a car accident with her child in the car. Hope you’re having a great week!
Ahhh, thank you, my dear! That is the best compliment, especially coming from Miss Brilliant Writer yourself! :) Girl, if this blog was all about Charlotte I’m sure we’d all be entertained. She cracks me up, too. Your boys are PRECIOUS, and Charlotte already knows how to flirt, so I know she’d love both of them. ;) Yeah, I can’t do buns either. It seriously looks a sad door knob when I try to wear one. No. That braid is about as trendy as my hair will get, and even that could use some work. Lol. Yep, the accident was stupid. Glad it’s over with! Have a great one, sister!

Thanks so much! She is the sweetest. :)
I love that old navy ‘Love’ dress that your sweetie is wearing on the slide.. i think I have to order it now! ha!
Yes, it is darling!!! And so soft. She can run around for days in that thing. ;) I think I put the link in my Valentine’s Day post if you can’t find it. I probably will link it in this week’s Friday post as well. Have a great one, Lauren!
I’m so glad you weren’t hurt in that accident! How scary!
That is so sweet about your daughter saying “Hi!” to Jesus. The faith of a child is so beautiful and pure!!!
