Holy, holly berries, it’s been a fun week! First of all, I want to apologize for not having a Monday post this week (you know, for the 10 of you who read religiously), but I’ve been having too much fun lately. Second of all, I guess I should probably start calling this a weekly recap, because that’s what it’s pretty much become. Now moving on to the good stuff…
ONE.
Looking forward to…
Santa pictures! This is my poor baby last year. Of course I had to end up getting in a few pictures to calm her down, but this one just says it all. Raise your hand if you’ve been there! We’ll be taking her to see good ol’ Santa this weekend, and I’m hoping she won’t be as scared. I know some moms may not be into the whole Santa thing, but in our house, we definitely are. It’s a tradition that we love, and I hope one day this little one loves Santa as much as I did when I was a kid. Oh, that face though!
I think I know what outfit she’ll be wearing, but it was a hard choice. This little bit has been extra stylish this season thanks to some very cool shops. In the picture below, she’s wearing the same shirt I talked about last week from Positively Oakes, but these pants! These leggings are from S.A.K. Threads, and this shop seriously has the cutest handmade clothes I’ve ever seen. Be on the look out for their shop to reopen at the first of the year.
TWO.
Still swooning over…
The hubs’ Christmas party! If you follow me on Instagram, you might have noticed that I went to a Christmas party to top all Christmas parties. It was amazing! Maroon 5 was the entertainment for the hubs’ company holiday party this year. Yep, you read that right. Maroon 5! Not only was the entertainment the best, we also had the best company. I met my friend Tiffanie through our husbands since they work together, so it was such a fun afternoon and night getting to hang out with them. We all stayed at the hotel the party was held at, and we really made a weekend of it. It was like prom but fun, the most fun you could possibly have. This holiday party had photo booths, open bars, a casino room/tent, karaoke, a jazz room, a dueling piano room, food galore, the best DJ and music, and of course, a concert. Here are a few pics from the “photo booth.”
Now on to the concert talk…Tiffanie and I made sure that we got very close to front row, and our husbands happily helped us claim our spots. We stood in front of the stage for about 45 minutes prior to the performance, and we were so glad we did! This is what it looked like right before the main act took the stage.
This little video I did was one of about 50 that I took. Just be sure to watch in HD so you can enjoy Adam in all his glory. You’re welcome.
Maroon 5 performed 14 songs, starting with “One More Night” from their Overexposed album and ending with “Moves Like Jagger.” I’ve seen them in concert before, but for some reason, this time was so much better. Maybe because I felt like I was in the pit? Maybe because Adam Levine has just gotten better with age? Maybe because The Voice has made him kick it up a notch? Who knows. It really doesn’t matter, because all that does matter is that he is and was heaven. The night was an absolute blast, and I am so very, very thankful that we were able to go. And because I’m a picture person, here are few more.
Is it just me or does Adam Levine look like Christian Bale?
And we stayed until they turned the lights on! Best night ever.
THREE.
Thankful for…
My sister. She came in and saved the day since we obviously needed a babysitter to go to our fabulous Christmas party. This was the first time she’s babysat Charlotte over night, and Charlotte had the best time with her Aunt P! She even started a fun tradition of building a gingerbread house with C. Isn’t that the sweetest? She fed her pizza, let her jump around, read her lots of books, and gave her lots of love. And now she knows why I’m always so tired.

FOUR.
Loving…
Christmas traditions. Since the sister was in town, my mom came up on Sunday so we could go see The Houston Ballet’s The Nutcracker. I mentioned last week that it’s a special tradition that we have, and I think this was year 10 for us. My sister and I always coordinate our outfits every year, and this year we went with silver and black. Another fun night down in the books!
FIVE.
Listening to…
Obviously, the concert/Christmas party made me remember how much I love Maroon 5. Because of that, I had to update my running playlist. The half marathon is only a month away, and I am still not keeping up with my training. At least I’ll have good music to listen to while I’m running that day. Here’s what I added:
1. “Uptown Funk” by Mark Ronson feat. Bruno Mars (the best funky beat I’ve heard in a long time)
2. “Blank Space” by Taylor Swift
3. “Animals” by Maroon 5
4. “One More Night” by Maroon 5
Why these weren’t already on my playlist is a mystery.
And that’s all she wrote, folks! Go be merry and have a fun weekend! Hopefully it’s full of holiday festivities, fun times, and happy things.

Your husband’d company really knows how to party!!!! Love Adam Levine!!! Sadly, we missed our chance for tickets to the ballet this year due to babysitting difficulties. You’re so lucky to have family so close! Loving all the holiday traditions we can start incorporating now that our littles are grown up a bit!!! Have a fabulous weekend!

Aww, no fun. My family is two hours away, so I guess that’s close enough. I do wish they were closer though! I hope to take Charlotte with us next year, but we shall see. Have a great weekend, Amanda!
