Happy Friday! (Imagine me saying that in my best excited Oprah voice. You know the one.) That’s how glad I am it’s Friday. Anyone else? Last week, M had a full week off and I really enjoyed the time off with him, but this week, he went back to work and now has new work hours, and it’s been an adjustment once again to get back into a new routine flying solo with Charlotte. I’ve been extra tired lately too thanks to a very healthy baby boy growing rapidly, therefore, tired is my middle name.
Next week is my last week with Charlotte in Mother’s Day Out, so my last days of freedom and alone time are about to come to a screeching halt. I’ll definitely miss those days. When she goes back to school in the fall, I’ll be delivering baby brother, and our world and schedule will be rocked yet again.
Since I didn’t write a “Currently” post last week, I feel like we haven’t talked in forever. I know we talk plenty on Facebook and Instagram, but to me that is micro-blogging. Any you all should know by now how much I like to ramble. So here are some truths.
ONE.
I’ve been feeling kind of blah lately. So blah that I thought about giving blogging up all together, but you know I couldn’t go through with that just yet. I love blogging, and it does add some extra pocket change for my family, but I know there will eventually be a time that I don’t blog. Right now, I still feel called to it. I have too many ideas and thoughts right now to let it go. But when you blog as a business, sometimes it can wear you down and drain you–all of the numbers you have to worry about, reader critiques, and things you’re supposed to do to keep the “business” running. Fun times. I know the devil is definitely trying to steal my thunder. Not today, Satan. Not today.
This summer I’ll be spending more time working on the Bible study. I MUST GET THIS DONE. I’m praying for God’s word and direction to see this calling come to life, and I’m praying for obedience to stay focused.
Here are two things that have helped me tremendously in getting through this funk.

TWO.
Life lately has been filled with lots of family time. From Mother’s Day to this past weekend, we’ve been super busy. Last weekend, we went to Port Lavaca to send my sister off to New York City. She moved on Monday, and I couldn’t be prouder. She’s still working for Kendra Scott, and I love to brag on her whenever I can. I think what she does is a big deal, especially since working in the fashion world is my dream job. And living in NYC is my dream city. It’s so cool seeing dreams come to fruition.
Here are some snapshots from the weekend.
THREE.
Game of Thrones. Y’all. We did it. We jumped on the bandwagon, and now we’re hooked. M and I love it! We’ve been watching on AppleTV via HBOGo, and that little device is finally being put to use. However, our binge watching sessions look a lot like me falling asleep and having to ask him what I missed when I wake up. I blame my growing belly for dozing off during episodes. We are almost to Season 4, and I can’t believe some of the things happening! I feel like that gasping emoji most of the time when we watch. So much drama and so much gore. If you haven’t seen it, I will say that it’s definitely a show to watch with your husband. One day I’ll get him to watch one of my shows. One day!
FOUR.
I shared this yesterday on Facebook after my uncle shared it in our family’s group text, but it’s still cracking me up.
I mean. If you don’t know this song and aren’t envisioning MTV playing this video, you might be too young for me. Just kidding. But really, how much do you love this? Now that’s about as political as I’ll ever get on the blog.
FIVE.
Some reminders and things coming up.
- I just became a cohost for a weekly linkup called A Little Bird Told Me, and I’d love if you joined! You can see what it’s all about here. I also shared my favorite summer blog posts in that one, so be sure to check it out if you haven’t already.
- At the end of the month, a very cool project is launching that I am honored to be a part of. It will be a series of blog posts focusing on faith and the family on the website Faith Along the Way.
Several of those blog posts have printables, and you can sign up to receive them here.
- You have until the end of the month to get your 20% off discount using code SevenGraces at the Boot Campaign‘s store. Proceeds help fund the campaign and its endeavours to assist military families, past and present. If you missed the blog post about it this week, you can read more about the organization here.
And a couple more mind rambles:
- My letter to my sister was one of my favorite blog posts of the month. I shared that on Monday, and you can read it here.
- I still need to come up with a good teacher gift for next week. Any ideas?
- I’m excited to start working on Charlotte’s big girl room and baby boy’s nursery. Although, I now have no guest room or desk work area. I’m trying to come up with ways to be organized when you don’t have much space. It’s quite the challenge.
- I’ve been SUPER behind in replying to comments here on the blog and Instagram, but I promise I will get back to them. I will get it done. It makes me sad that I haven’t been able to yet, but you know how life goes sometimes.
- The water weight has started to creep up on me. I’m convinced that my body has a mind of its own when I’m pregnant. I’ve now gained 3-5 pounds of water weight, and it’s not fun. How do I know it’s water weight? Because I weigh myself in the morning and at night, and there is always that huge of a difference.
And that’s about the size of it. Whew! Glad you read through all of that. You know I love you to pieces and appreciate you more than you know! Now tell me, what’s been going on with you? Any fun weekend or summer plans? We have a birthday party and then M’s birthday on Monday. More fun times to come!
See you here next week when I try my hand at fashion blogging (yes, while pregnant), share some answers from your most popular questions, and more.
Be blessed, friend! Have the best weekend ever. :)

Don’t be too hard on yourself with blogging. I don’t blog as a business but I can imagine it’s more taxing on you and you have that sweet babe to think of. Definitely give yourself some grace. I think I wanted to sleep the whole first half of Bre’s pregnancy… but theres a little 3 year old wanting all your attention too ;)

You’re so sweet, Karra. Thank you! It is pretty tiring to do it as a job, because I still haven’t figured out the work/life balance. When I’m blogging non-stop, my house is a mess. When my house is great, my blog is a mess. Lol. Something always suffers. I’d rather be tending to my baby, Charlotte, my husband, and my home. But I do love blogging and sharing, so I’ll keep at it as best I can. Grace is the only thing that gets me through the days! Xoxo
Hope you and the family have a beautiful weekend!

I feel you on the waterweight! With my pregnancies, I could have up to TEN POUNDS of water weight. like, what the what. And it’s not like I wasn’t using the bathroom every 10 minutes!!

Oh friend. I swear the baby boys make you a million times more tired! Or maybe is the toddler factor? Either way, I totally am right with you falling asleep in the middle of TV shows. I also without fail fall asleep while we’re watching Daniel Tiger in the afternoon. We finished up our MMO program too this week and I’m so sad!!! Goodbye uninterrupted 3.5 hour breaks. Sigh… we can survive the summer, right??? Hope you have a great weekend and get some rest.

That Rick Astley meme makes me laugh every. single. time. And you can’t have too much laughter during this election season! Thanks for linking up!
Tiffany {A Touch of Grace} says
The Rick Astley meme, lol! And yes, I was so much more tired with the second than the first. Probably because I never got a break with A. And he was bigger than A so that has something to do with it I’m sure.
GOT…yes! So addicting. Glad you jumped on board. :)

The Rick Astley meme, oh my word. Lolol
Kristy says
Haha! Oh, yes. Gotta love that dude. Who knew his song would still be relevant almost thirty years later. ;)
