Happy Friday, friends!
I thought of all the things I could publish today, but I have five random things I want to share with y’all. These are all so good, so grab a coffee and hunker down for 10 minutes.
ONE.
We’re starting with the heavy one. This has been on my mind a lot lately, so when I saw this pop up on Facebook, I immediately started crying. Dare you not to cry!
TWO.
Organizing and cleaning are the thorns in my side that just won’t go away. Yes, I understand this is a messy season (literally), but I also don’t want to always live in state of constant chaos. I need order and systems, and I just haven’t taken the time to put them in place.
With Charlotte going to school in the fall, I figured now is as good a time as any to get my “stuff” together.
I asked on Instagram and Facebook your favorite and best cleaning tips and hacks, and I have gotten so many wonderful responses! I’ll be compiling them all to make into one big blog post on Monday. From the responses I got, we all could use some help in this department. Cannot wait to share!
THREE.
Colin got a botched haircut the other day, and I forgot to tell y’all all about my horrid experience! Blessed be the young lady who tried to cut his hair, because he was like a little kid swinging and swatting away a swarm of bees. This kid would not sit still to save his life, so here we are with a haircut that looks jagged as all get out. He even had a lollipop to appease him for heaven’s sake, but it did not cut it for him this time. Last time it did, but not this last haircut. It could be worse, but I still needed a drink afterward and all the unicorn sprinkles.
FOUR.
I’ve come to realize that there are two types of people in the world: ones who binge watch TV shows and ones who read books. There are certainly people who do both, but I don’t have that life. It’s either or for me.
Some of the TV shows I’ve been watching the last few months have been: Grey’s Anatomy, This is Us (still grieving the fact that season 2 is over), Walking Dead (snooze fest but in it for the long haul since we’ve been watching since the premiere), Teen Mom OG, and my guilty pleasure — Riverdale.
I started watching Riverdale via Netflix when we flew to New York. It’s a teeny bopper show, but still addicting and worth my time. Dylan from 90210 is the dad for one of the high schoolers, and it quickly confirmed to me I am definitely middle-aged. Anyway, I love it, and when I shared with y’all my love for it and for more TV show suggestions, one of my fabulous followers told me that season 2 is on the CW right now! What?! The last five episodes are on the CW app, but I remembered a trick I used to use when I watched Downton Abbey in its hayday.
To watch the entire season 2 of Riverdale for free, go read this post I wrote on how to watch ALL the TV shows. You’re welcome. Let me know if you have any questions. Currently, I stream it on my iPad then screen share it to my Apple TV. Perfect!
FIVE.
What would you do if you had no fear of failing? This question came across my radar the other day when I was listening to a Rachel Hollis YouTube video or maybe it was one of her podcasts. Anyway, it really got me fired up. The heart of the video I linked is to get fired up again, remember why you started.
When I started blogging four years ago, I wanted to make moms feel less alone. I really hope that if you’re reading, I do that for you. Whether it be a story about faith, family, or favorite things, my goal and hope is that you take something away every single time you leave this site. That is my goal and my passion, and I will continue to write for you even when I want to give up, because I’m not a quitter.
But let’s take this a little further. What is something YOU are passionate about that you want to do but you’re just too scared to do it? What if you had no fear of failing or what people think? What does that look like for you?
I’m going to go out on a limb and share some things I would LOVE to do but harbor a tiny bit of insecurity to do them:
- Grow my Young Living business into a full-time income business because I believe in it that much! (Do you follow me on my Instagram oils account?)
- Become a motivational and public speaker. (Maybe this could start with a YouTube channel?)
- Write a book. (I’ve had this dream for YEARS. I know one day it WILL happen, but right now, I’m still a sponge gaining all the info I need to write it.)
I’m writing these out because when you share your dreams with your people, there’s a good chance they’re going to hold you accountable.
Now how can we do all the things we’re scared of? I know one way: GROW YOUR CONFIDENCE. Learn as much as you can and be the best version of myself. I’m working on both of these things, and I’m going to go for it. You should, too.
At the beginning of the month, I shared with y’all that I wanted to write 10 blog posts in the month of March. Today, I have five published for you, but the clock is ticking. I’m going to be bold and say that I’m going to meet that goal. I might get tired, but I’m going to do it.
That’s about the size of it for today. I did want to mention one more thing. Did you know you can shop all of my Instagram photos without being signed up for LikeToKnow. It? All you do is go to my Shop tab and click on “Shop My Instagram.” When you click on a picture, all the product info will pop up for you. Hope that helps!
I hope you all have the best weekend! It should be another beautiful one here, so I hope it’s beautiful where you are, too!
Xoxo,
Kristy
