Happy Friday, friends!
Time for a little catch up! It’s been a while.
I’ve been in total introvert mode the past two months for whatever reason, but gosh, I’m ready to shake it off. It’s getting pretty lonely. Have you ever gone through that? Where you totally isolate yourself and run in autopilot? It’s been all about my kids and hubby lately, and while that’s not a bad thing, it’s also not ALL who I am, therefore my well is getting a little bit dry. I’m more than just a mom, you know?
It’s so easy for us to forget about ourselves and our dreams and our passions. But more about that on another day. ;)
I have been working hard on my new oils business, learning all I can, and it’s been so much fun. I’ve never been part of a more amazing team. Time consuming, yes, but I absolutely love it and can’t wait to see what sprouts from all the seeds I’ve been sowing. I hope the benefits I’ve been seeing transfer to all my friends and family! Because you all deserve it.
Now let’s see, where to start?
-
- Michael got a new job! Remember that time he got laid off from his job two years ago? That was two years ago almost to the day, actually. We took a picture in a photo booth that night, and there’s a time stamp on it, and I’ve kept it ever since to remember the day we were humbled to our core. God’s never failed us, and He has always, always provided, but it was a long two years to say the least. Which brings us full circle to today. I’m so stinking excited for him because he’s back y’all! He’s back at his most favorite job he’s ever had. Things are in an upswing again, and I’m just ecstatic that he gets to go and do what he loves. If you’ve ever been through an unexpected layoff from a company you absolutely adore, you might be able to relate.
- At night, I’ve been trying to read a book instead of scroll through Facebook and Instagram. I’ve been reading The Nightingale by Kristin Hannah, because it’s what I’ve had saved in my Kindle app on my iPad. (I read on my iPad so I don’t have to have my lamp on since I have an uber-sensitive sleeper of a husband.) So far, so good. It’s set during World War II in France about love and strength.
- I listened to three podcasts last week that blew my mind. I’m a huge Jen Hatmaker fan and I’ve had her podcasts saved to my phone since she launched her podcasts this past summer. In true procrastinator form, I finally listened to three of them and OH MY GOSH. Y’all. I can’t even explain to you what they’ve done to me. It’s like they grabbed me by the shoulders and said, “Wake the heck up, sister! Get it together!” So here we are. Back to blogging and goal setting and getting things together. The three For the Love episodes you must listen to are:
- Spring closet sprucing is on my mind, and shoes are the easiest way to update any wardrobe! I’ll be doing a full post very soon about my favorite picks, but here’s a preview.
- I have such big goals this month! I want to do 10 blog posts this month which is something I haven’t done in FOR-EV-ER. Here’s a lineup on what’s coming up:
- favorite New York restaurants and things to do
- my favorite 30 minute go-to meals
- spring shoes
- spring fashion for the babes
- Colin’s first birthday party (6 months later #momfail)
- spring fashion for the casual lady
- home decor favorites
- office inspo &
- playroom inspo
- a from the heart that’s been sitting in here for a long while
And that’s all she wrote today! Love you all and thank you so much for coming back and reading. Even if there was just one person out there reading, I’d still be writing.
Lots of love and see you on InstaStories!
Xoxo,
Kristy
