Happy Halloween Eve! I’m feeling a little under the weather this morning, but I have a few fun things to share, so here we go.
ONE.
Loving…
So I’ve turned into “that mom” and love matching with my mini. Is it a crime? I know I’ve mentioned this before, but it’s something that’s not going away. I know when she gets older, she’ll probably think it’s on the totally lame spectrum, but I just can’t help it. We coordinate more days than not, and I unashamedly love it. These precious tees designed by Jessica Garvin for SaSea are a no-brainer. They’re currently on sale right now, too, so be sure to stock up for next year.
And in case you were ever wondering if my picture taking with Charlotte was always effortless, the one above is a better indication of what we’re dealing with these days. Completely unedited for you to know that it takes a million shots to get a couple of good ones.
TWO.
Thankful for…
I’m really thankful for Charlotte’s Mother’s Day Out program. Yesterday, I went to her Fall Fun Day, and I was so impressed by all they do for all the precious kiddos. It may not have been extravagant, but it was simple fun, the kind of fun that kids appreciate and love. I shared a few snaps (is that the word for it…I’m aging myself here) on Snapchat, and the joy in her face makes my heart so happy. She is flourishing in MDO, something I was completely nervous about, and I couldn’t be prouder. She loves her teachers, and the people there running the program are the greatest. Makes my teacher heart thankful beyond measure to know that my little pumpkin is now being loved on by other teacher hearts. If your little is in a MDO program, be sure to thank a teacher. They’ll appreciate it more than you know.
THREE.
Dining at…
I had a donut this week. And a couple of donut holes thanks to Charlotte stuffing them down my throat. I’m sure you can picture the toddler hands and the forceful nature that it took for me to eat them. But anyway, Charlotte woke up the other day asking for pancakes. A pancake maker I am not. That is her daddy’s speciality. So I did what any other mama would do and told her we would go for donuts instead. We packed up the car and off we went. I kept her in her pajamas, and I even let Chapman (our dog) tag along. The hubs usually does a Saturday morning donut date, just he and Charlotte, while they let me sleep in a little, and I was becoming a little sad that I had never experienced a donut date with our best girl. Donut dates are the bees knees. They must be done more often. If you’re in the market for mini date ideas, the donut shop is the place to be. Just expect a mess. ;) All worth it though.
FOUR.
Drinking…
All the water. I’ve been trying to be really healthy the last week (with the exception of the whole donut thing), because I have got to fit comfortably into my jeans for our trip next week. (More on our trip later.) Anyway, the La Croix water is the bomb dot com. I can thank my cool sister for getting me hooked on these. I know I’m probably the last one to arrive to the La Croix party, so which one is your favorite? I’ve only tried the lime and cran-raspberry, and I love them both, but I think I’ll try a new flavor until I’ve tried them all. No calories, no artificial sweeter, natural flavors, and bubbly water. What genius invented this?!
FIVE.
Watching…
Now that I’ve cut blogging down in my daily activities, I’ve been watching way more TV. And since last weekend was a rain fest, we watched even more. This past month, the hubs and I even got to go out to the movies. Talk about celebrate good times, c’mon. Here’s what I’ve been watching and loving lately. If you need a date night on the couch or out to the theatre, here are my latest recommendations:
The Martian (great film!)
Blended (you can’t go wrong with Drew Barrymore & Adam Sandler)
The Wedding Ringer (foul, but hilarious)
Entourage – the movie (ehh, wasn’t the greatest, but was okay)
Nashville (OMG, the last episode)
Scandal (OMG, the last episode)
Downton Abbey
The Walking Dead
I’m still in shock over the last episode of TWD. I am going to fail to believe that the person who shall remain nameless isn’t really dead, and that’s all I have to say about that. I’m going to need a glass of wine or something before I watch this week’s episode, because the insane amount of tension this shows brings is insanity. Not to mention that this week’s episode is an hour and a half. Seriously, people. I have issues with TV drama.
___
And that’s all I’ve got. Happy Friday and Halloween weekend! I can’t wait to see all the littles dressed up in their costumes. Charlotte is going to go bananas in her monkey costume, and I can’t wait! I hope the rain doesn’t ruin our fun. Now go and be the light in this dark world.
Let’s keep in touch, shall we?

la croix water is great! I really love the grapefruit, and the cherry-lime!
Kristy says
I’ll have to add both of those flavors to list to try. :) Happy Halloween weekend!

Blended was a great movie. Some parts were super weird but that comes along with any Sandler movie :) I also love matching with my daughter. It’s a daily occurrence around here! Haha.
Kristy says
Haha, yes, Adam Sandler always has awkward scenes, but overall, they’re cheesy and funny. And I just love Drew Barrymore.
Happy Halloween weekend! :)

I’m a sparkling water fanatic! I always buy the coconut flavor from the HEB brand. But when I feel like getting fancy, I get the LaCroix stuff! I like pretty much every flavor they put out! Love the pictures from the Halloween party!!

Sweetest pics of you two!!! Happy halloween weekend!

Love the pics of you and Charlotte matching… and if matching my daughter is wrong then I don’t want to be right because it is my favorite… I even coordinate unintentionally all the time lol! Love that you took Char for donuts in her halloween PJ’s, she must have loved that!
I have been loving all of the downtime I have now that I’m not blogging as much (although I basically haven’t blogged in two weeks and my blog is dying a slow death… EEK!) I am able to catch up on shows (Scandal obviously… OMG the last episode!!) but I’ve also been nesting BIG TIME and cleaning like a mad woman instead of blogging… super boring, I know. I have nothing to blog about because all I’m doing is cleaning and watching TV and editing photos.

I tried a Lacroix a while back and hated it, but I hear SO many good things so I might just need to try a different flavor. The pictures of you two in the beginning.. SO CUTE.

I love the matching outfits! we do a lot of matching (usually unintentionally though) and I love it! I FINALLY got caught up on this season of Scandal and OMG! I have to watch from this week yet. I planned on tonight, but time change got the best of me and after reading this, I’m out for the night!

She is the absolute cutest! I’m loving all the mommy/mini matching going on. I need to start coordinating my outfits with Mim’s outfits! She’s way more fashionable than me anyway!

What cute pictures! And I was just commenting about how it takes hundreds of pictures to get just one decent one that doesn’t include blurry body parts. Le sigh…. And YES La Croix! That was my summer drink, and I need to stock up. My favorite so far has been grapefruit – but if you aren’t a grapefruit person it may not be that great… and I’m loving our Mommy’s Day Out program too. So wonderful to see them enjoying to go! Elizabeth is just jazzed to go each time, which makes this mamma’s heart happy! And relieved :) Hope you had a fun, festive weekend!

A donut date sounds like a perfect morning out! I have always liked flavored water, but never tried LaCroix. You are the second person to recommend it in the last week! I’ll have to give it a try.
