Hello again, lovely friends! I’m still unwinding, trying to get back into the swing of things from my extra long weekend last week, and it’s already Friday. I know. If you missed it, you can read all about that weekend here. Don’t worry. I’ll wait. Now, let’s move on to what has become Five on Friday/Confessional Friday/Currently.
ONE.
Thinking about…
Wearing all the hats. You know the ones: the mom hat, the wife hat, the sister hat, the daughter hat, the friend hat, the blogger hat, etc., etc.. Living with dirty floors, never ending laundry, and a tyrannical toddler is no joke, so keeping up with said hats is quite the task, people. Why didn’t anyone tell me about this? I love this life of mine, but I am still learning how to get it all done. Finding balance is hard, but I’m working on finding time to do all the things, and to do them all well. Any suggestions on how to get it all done while still feeling fabulous and not feeling like you just ran a marathon? I’m all ears. But I just read this, and it made me feel better. So there’s that.

TWO.
Wanting…
Rain boots for me and the mini. Last week, we had rain almost every single day, and apparently we’re in for more this weekend. I guess that means fall has somewhat arrived here in Houston. Because we can’t always stay cooped up in the house on rainy days, I think that means we’ll be needing rain boots.
I like these for Charlotte and these for me, both top options found at Target. Although I would really love these Hunter boots for Charlotte and these for me, both bottom options from Nordstrom. They’re on sale by the way. Sadly, all of the items will probably stay on my wish list, because are they really a necessity? Sigh.
THREE.
Decompressing from…
Blog Elevated. I learned a ton, and I have been reeling from all the information that was presented. But y’all, it was so much stuff to digest. For real. I’m trying to implement little bits and pieces of what I learned, here and there, to try not to be overwhelmed, because I easily could be. I know I’ve had a few inquires about a recap, but I wanted to do another poll before I actually write one…how many of you are interested in a recap of sorts from what I learned at the conference? What would you want to know? I’m thinking it would be a top 10 things I learned sort of deal. I have 23 pages of notes. Twenty three!
FOUR.
Loving…
All the new friends I’ve made lately. Blogging has been such a blessing to my life, and I have found and actually met some of the coolest women ever because of it. This past weekend at the conference was no exception. Having stayed in a house full of awesome moms and bloggers (and two of their babies) was fantastic. It was nice to have so much in common with such a big group and to be able to talk about blogging and family and all things fun. I wish we would have taken a group picture, but I don’t think we ever got around to it. I love all of my girlfriends’ blogs, and I especially love just knowing them. You may already be fan of some of them, but here is where you can find the wonderful ladies I had the pleasure of spending the weekend with:
Channing and Michelle at Moms Without Answers
Meg from Meg O. on the Go
Brittany from Southern Mama & Child
Sarah from Pretty Providence
Taylor from Taylor Made
Allison from House of Hepworths
FIVE.
Watching…
SCANDAL. I was watching Scandal as I was writing this out, and I am convinced that I look nothing like Olivia Pope when I’m running. I need to get her running outfits, maybe that will help. I also need all of her coats and her pretty wine glasses. If you’re a Scandal fan, can you please raise your hand? Were you in tears these last two episodes? Leave my heart alone, Shonda Rhimes! Loving this season already.

And just as a reminder, I am loving Downton Abbey, Season 5. Are you?
That’s all I have today, folks. I hope you’ve had a wonderful week, and I hope you have the most amazing weekend! Anything exciting currently going on with you that you want to share?

I knew I wasn’t the only one. ;) I’ve sort of thrown out the to-do list and just do what I can. I have a running tally in my head, and that’s enough. I like your thinking. :) And I’m trying to figure out what information is the most important to share since it’s so much information. I’ll be posting next week about it…I think. ;)

I'm struggling with all of my hats too! I feel like I've brought it all on myself, and I'm wondering why. ha ha. I've decided I just have to take one thing at a time. There is no way I can cross everything off of my to do list in a day, so just take it day by day. :) I'm interested in hearing what you learned at the conference!

Great post! I really enjoyed reading this 5 on Friday. :-D I haven’t watched Scandal or Downtown Abbey, but I’ve heard good things about them. :-)
Kristy says
Thanks so much, Katie! :) If you like dramas, you will love both of these shows. But be prepared to binge-watch if you do. They are highly addicting. ;)

It’s pretty sporadic, but it’s raining again today. We’ll take it. I need these boots! :( Why can’t I win the lottery, dangit! And yes, my friends are fabulous. You won’t be disappointed. Although, some of them are too crafty for my own good, but they are darn good at what they do. :)

I am so scared to have another child. I think fear is the only thing holding me back at this point. Lol. I can barely wear the hats I’m wearing now. ;) I’m sure you can do it! And the conference was great. I can’t wait to go to another one next year.
