It’s getting closer! This is our last official weekend of summer, and while I’m super excited to get my work schedule back, I’m also a little sad that it’s one more summer under my belt with my tiny little love who isn’t so tiny anymore. We’ve been school shopping, singing songs, working in practice workbooks, and trying to go to bed just a tad bit earlier while the sun is still trying to set. Here are some things I’ve been loving and some things we’ve been doing to get ready for back to school!
ONE.
We had Meet the Teacher last night, and I really am excited for Charlotte to learn all she can this year. Her teacher seemed really nice (aren’t all elementary school teachers?!) which makes me breathe a sigh of relief. We took her this welcome back gift just as a small token of encouragement and thanks for all she’s done to prepare for this school year to be a great one. As a former high school teacher, I know first hand just how much work goes on during the summer, and it doesn’t ever go unnoticed. The first week is always brutal on everyone, so I thought this “survival kit” would come in handy.

I found the felt basket in the Target Dollar Spot, and used some craft sticks to jazz it up. I wanted to keep it for myself! That’s when you know you’ve come up with a good gift. ;)
TWO.
We finished up our school shopping, and everything we bought is in this post! Charlotte’s so excited about her new clothes, she just had to wear one of her dresses to Meet the Teacher last night, too.
We are still loving our Pottery Barn Kids backpack and lunch kit, and I plan on using the bento box again. They last forever! Charlotte really loves the cafeteria food though, so that makes my life much easier.
We’re still working on Colin’s clothes, and I think I’ll need a new nap mat for him. Does it ever end?!

Onto organizing the chaos! I am loving this closet organizer hack for setting outfits out for the week. I’ll share how and where I do this in Charlotte’s room this weekend. I found some felt alphabet stickers in the Target Dollar Spot, too! Makes putting this together so easy!

We plan on making this felt pennant sign for her first day of school picture. Isn’t it the cutest? A lot of places sell these (even the Dollar Spot at Target has some), but I think we’re going to try and DIY it. Wish us luck!

I bought Charlotte the materials to make these bracelets, and she did already. I wanted to make them for her, but I couldn’t keep it a surprise. In true Charlotte fashion, she wanted to do it herself. I am usually very controlling when it comes to making things (who me?!), but I let her do it. It’s perfectly imperfect and I love every bead of it. ;) I’ll show y’all soon what our final product looks like. But isn’t this idea darling? I love the little letter that goes with it too!
Happy weekend, friends!
