Happy Friday, friend! Before the new year goes on any longer, I want to pause and say thank you for being a reader. 2015 was a big year for Seven Graces, and it’s all because of you! When I started Seven Graces in March of 2014, I had no idea that it would manifest into what it has become. Page views grew six times in the course of just this past year alone. That is absolute insanity to me. Everyday, I appreciate the time you take to come and read what I have to share. We’re definitely all in this together. 2016 is going to a big one. I can just feel it in my bones. Before I start talking about my goals and dreams for this year, I want to give you a run down of what you’ve made your favorite.
But before I go any further, I do want to note that this year was definitely the year of the pin and the lifestyle posts. Pinterest brought in anywhere between 50-60% of my page views on any given day. So it’s no surprise that my most popular blog posts were also some of my most popular pins. Last year’s top 10 looked completely different than this year’s, and it’s all thanks to the power of Pinterest. Here are my top five blog posts in 2015 according to you (and Google Analytics).
1. 5 Cute & Functional Nursery Items You Can’t Live Without :: This blog post has just recently exploded on Pinterest, and I think it has to do with the fact that I shared Charlotte’s nursery. I get emails daily asking about the details of her nursery. And to think, this was originally a sponsored post. It’s not only the most popular of the year, but it’s not the most popular of all time!
2. Currently Confessing | Vol. 25…Happy V-Day, a Recipe, & a Survey :: Just by reading that title, you probably would wonder why that was such a popular post. Well, let me just say that people love a good tortilla soup. That pin also took off on Pinterest, bringing in tons of people to see that recipe.
3. My Half Marathon Experience & the Best Running Playlist :: This one is special to me because it details my third Houston Marathon experience. Last year, I ran the half and it was amazing. I’m kicking myself for not signing up for this year’s. What made this post so popular though was the playlist. I shared my Spotify playlist in its entirety, I always love when people share those. It’s still one of my favorite playlists to listen to. Maybe I’ll update it this year. ;)
4. Currently Confessing | Vol. 52…The One with the Hunter Boots Cleaning Hack :: Here’s another one of my Friday posts with a tidbit of helpful information that made it crazy popular. People love a good hack, and this one definitely does the trick to shine up those pretty boots.
5. How to Watch Downton Abbey Season 6 Now :: Does this one need any explanation? I didn’t think so. I have watched each season with the Brits following the steps I outlined in this post, and I’m not sorry. I am sorry that it’s the last season and that Downton is officially over. I just watched the very last episode last week, and I’m so sad it’s finished. I’ll watch the last season all over again with the states and tune into PBS each Sunday night for good measure.
And here are some honorable mentions…
LIFESTYLE
FOR THE MOM
FROM THE HEART
Last year, I was also a contributor to Houston Moms Blog, and it was a wonderful experience. My most popular post over there was You Know You’re a Stay-at-Home Mom When… and it’s still one of my favorites.
Whew! What a year. I think that is plenty of reading material for your weekend. Ha. I’ll be back next week to share some really exciting news about this year, some honest confessions about all that went on last year, and some info about what lies ahead for Seven Graces. But before I go, did one of your favorites make the list? When you think of Seven Graces, what do you expect to see? What do you want to see more of? And now I think I’ll make a survey.
Happy weekend! Talk to you soon.
Don’t miss a thing. There’s always something going on here:
