It’s summertime! That means magical movie nights outdoors, yummy sunset treats, and lots of family time. As we’re all looking for ways to jazz up our typical activities, this backyard movie night can be fun and simple. Here are some tips to make the whole family happy.
Backyard Movie Night Tips
Start at dusk.
It’s hot here in Texas, as I’m sure is the case for most of you wherever you are. Best tip: start at dusk when the sun starts to go down and the temps start to drop a bit.
Make a s’mores dip & strawberry cheesecake dip.
For our s’mores dip, we followed the recipe above from Pampered Chef along with using their indoor outdoor portable grill and mini cast iron skillets. Super easy and fun for the kids! And we didn’t have to bother with making s’mores over and over again. The dip is ideal for grazing!
We kept the graham crackers and fruit for dipping in the Large Square Cool & Serve tray which is the perfect platter for outdoors! You can even use the cool & serve platter for deviled eggs. ;)
This dip was delicious!!! I kept it cool in the 1 qt. Cool & Serve Bowl. The kids dipped their fruit and graham crackers in this, and even after movie night was over, I stored it in the fridge. Easy peasy!
Have a picnic spread.
We went all out with the picnic spread! I loved creating a charcuterie board with the Pampered Chef Premium Charcuterie & Cheese Board Set which comes with the Lazy Susan and accesories set.
You can’t forget all your plates & napkins when taking your movie night outdoors, so I set up all of ours in this perfect wicker serving caddy.
Bring on the popcorn!
Of course it wouldn’t be a movie night without POPCORN! I love, love, love this Pampered Chef microwave popcorn maker. This silicone collapsable bowl makes popcorn from the kernels, and you can even add your favorite popping oil or butter. So cool! The whole family gobbles this up.
Make a homemade lemonade.
We love homemade lemonade! I always use a sugar substitute when making our fresh lemonade, and I love keeping our drinks cool in these fancy wine tumblers (the tumblers also have the cutest bag to carry them in).
Pick a movie everyone loves.
Since we have a TV on our back patio, picking a movie to stream is the hardest thing we have to set up. My kids love all the cutest movies right now, so we went with Good Dinosaur. You can check out our favorite summer movies here.
Don’t forget to diffuse the citronella!
Don’t let bugs bother you when you’re trying to eat and enjoy a movie. I love diffusing citronella with a cordless diffuser. It keeps the bugs at bay.
