Charlotte just gave me the full Doc McStuffin’s check-up, and all is well according to her.
We’re only three weeks out until baby boy is here, and I can’t believe it. I’m so ready. Ready for sleep deprivation? Not quite, but I am ready to meet this little love. I’m ready to see what he looks like, what he’ll be like, and how he’ll change our family forever.
The Homestretch
How far along: 36 weeks and 4 days. We’re in the homestretch now with only three weeks to get everything done. I’m hoping he doesn’t come early, because I have so much I want to do and need to do before he gets here.
Gender: We already know. Colin Michael will be here soon!
Weight Gain: It’s funny how in my last update I was only up 23 pounds. Now I’m up 32 pounds. (Insert wide-eyed emoji or fainting GIF.) I really have been eating horribly, and in the past month, I’ve been ravenous. It’s no wonder I’ve gained 10 pounds in four weeks.
The weight gain is starting to spread all over my body, because, clearly, fat does not discriminate in the last leg of pregnancy. My face has morphed again (but still not as badly as it did with Charlotte). Let’s just say my hips, behind, and legs are giving my seams a workout, but it’s all for a good cause, right?
For good measure, let’s talk about some ailments that come with the homestretch of pregnancy: Heartburn has been running amok like crazy up in here, and the swelling has turned into a beast. When I don’t drink enough water and rest enough, my face will definitely show it, as will my hands and feet.
I get the, “You look tired,” statement more often than not. Thankfully, I have not heard one person say, “You look like you’re about to pop,” so I guess I’m still doing all right. I’m thinking that boys are carried differently than girls. It really does look like I’m all belly (with the exception of my puffy face).
I am also starting to experience tingling in my fingers and feet, and sometimes I’ll get the worst back spasms. Pelvic pressure also makes it feel like my pelvic bones are about to snap. Fun times! It’s made housework only possible in the morning hours, because once 4 o’clock rolls around, my body is the Little Engine that Just Can’t Even.
Maternity Clothes: I can still fit into most of my maternity clothes, but big swing dresses are still my favorite, especially since it’s been so dang hot. My shoes are getting tighter now, too. Night gowns are my jam to sleep in. But man, I’m so looking forward to cooler days so I can just lounge comfortably in leggings (probably maternity) and a big t-shirt. It’s way too hot for that right now.
Sleep: Sleep is becoming difficult. I still use my Snoogle pillow, but I’m getting up at least once or twice a night to go potty. And when I wake up, I have an awful time falling back asleep. When I am asleep, I’ve now become an Olympic snorer according to my husband.
I also have become a power napper! I think I’ll try and take one every day until baby comes, because I really do need them these days.
Best Moment of the Month: My sprinkle shower was really special to me. Charlotte being so excited about her baby brother’s gifts just made my heart melt. She is so kind and sweet, and I know she is going to be a great big sister.
Getting the nursery in order has also been making me extremely happy, too.
Miss Anything: I truly miss being able to feel completely rested. I’m thinking it will be at least another year or two before that happens again.
Movement: The movement is crazy town right now. I can see his little hiney poke up making my belly look like a mountain top, and he is constantly moving his feet. His movement is definitely painful now too.
Cravings: Breakfast foods! Anything with pastries and eggs is my happy place.
Bellybutton: A very unattractive outty. Still.
Ring on or off: In my last bumpdate I told you I could only wear my Mother’s Day ring, and now that doesn’t even fit.
Looking forward to: I thought my last ultrasound was done at 34 weeks, but I’ll have another one next week, the week before I deliver. Definitely looking forward to that.
And I’m also looking forward to cutting my dang hair!
That’s about for me. It’s almost the end!
Sidenote: I’ll be blogging, blogging, blogging until I can’t blog anymore. I have so many fun things I want to share, and so many fun new products I can’t wait to share, too.

So close! I’m in denial that we are anywhere near the end. I’ll happily live in 20s week land. It will be nice to hopefully have some energy back. It takes me ages to get anything done.
