Hello, my friends, hello. I don’t know why a song lyric always comes to my head as soon as I sit down to start writing, but it does. Thanks, Neil Diamond. Anyway, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve opened up the old blogging machine, so I figured now is as good a time as ever to get it going again. You know, right before I need to get supper on the table.
November was a good month. It just was. This year has been really trying in more ways than one, but we can save that for Oprah. However, November was really great. Here are the highlights from #athankfulnovember.
Not too shabby, huh? Napa, the Nutcracker Market, my birthday, Christmas tree fun, cool weather, and Thanksgiving were the bright spots. And I promise I’ll get to that Napa post as soon as I can. ;)
Thanksgiving came and went, and I took every minute to enjoy it. Every minute to enjoy it right after Charlotte got rid of the horrendous stomach bug that she had the day before we left out of town. That’s one way to start the holiday off with a bang. (It’s also part of the reason why I’ve been absent from the blogging world. It was a crazy holiday week.)
She was only sick for less than 24 hours, but the aftermath of not eating lingered, AKA grumpy gills. But that was short-lived, thankfully. She was back to her cheerful self as soon as we got to Port Lavaca. I think she hams it up around family. Such a little pumpkin pie. She helped me make my pumpkin bread and Watergate salad I make for our Thanksgiving dinner every year, and she was the best helper ever. Just look at that grin.
Thanksgiving was different this year without my grandpa, but we made the most of it. That could be an entire blog post in itself.
On Thanksgiving day, I managed to get some shots of my little family, my sister, mom, aunt, and grandma. I would have been out there until dark had I photographed all of my extended family. Here’s what I got.
The rest of the weekend was spent enjoying the company of the family and eating too much food. Charlotte loved playing with my cousin’s kids, and it was really nice to watch her have such a good time.
After church on Sunday, this little lady was a nutcake. I love it when she’s silly. Most of the time.
We made it back home Sunday evening, and it’s been hard to get back into the swing of things. If you caught this picture below on Instagram, you know what I’m talking about.
So that’s it in a nutshell. I could write a novel, but ain’t nobody got time for that right now. It’s December, and we’re busy bees until the new year. You too? I will be back tomorrow to reveal our Christmas cards, so be sure to stop by for that.
Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving and a beautiful November. May this month bring you even more joy! Happy December, friend!

Such fun pictures with your family. Every time I see you post about Port Lavaca I wonder if I’ve actually ever told you I grew up in Wharton. :)

Really?! I drive through Wharton every time we go visit. It’s the hour away marker for us. And of course our Buccees stop. We used to play Wharton in sporting events, so I have many memories. Y’all always beat us in football, but that was before the Calhoun Sandcrabs became a power house. Lol.
