We meet again, Friday. Yesterday was the best of times and the worst of times, but I’m not quite ready to spill all the details just yet. Instead, I’m going to focus on the positive things that have happened since the last time I’ve written a Friday post. Ready, set, go!
ONE.
Go Texan Week…
Rodeo Houston started last weekend, so we have had all sorts of cowboy hooplah going on over here. Last Thursday, Charlotte’s school had Rodeo Day (a day to dress up and play games with a barn theme), and she is still talking about it. My friend Cathy handed these little cowboy boots down to us, and they have quickly become Charlotte’s favorite. She keeps asking if she can wear her Rodeo Day shoes. Did I mention that we’re city people?
TWO.
What we’re watching…
Right now, it seems like we watch at least one show a night.
Sunday night is The Walking Dead,
Monday is Better Call Saul,
Tuesday is a DVR’d Teen Mom O.G. & Fresh Off the Boat,
Wednesday is The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story, and
Thursday is The Big Bang Theory (& Scandal & Grey’s Anatomy for me).
So you can see how we have let TV become our escape? We have always loved watching TV shows together, and it really is our downtime when we turn off our phones and spend time with each other. Our commentary throughout each show is my favorite. Do you watch any of these shows? And if you’ve been a Grey’s Anatomy fan since the beginning, have you jumped ship? For the last two seasons ever since Christina left, I’ve distanced myself away from it. I started watching again last year when Derek was tragically removed, and I haven’t really caught back up ever since. I did watch the last two minutes of last week’s episode, and my jaw dropped. I hear it’s just not the same. Nonetheless, I have it recorded and saved ready to be watched when I get the time. Are you loving any TV shows airing right now?
Oh, and how could I almost forget! We did start Fuller House last weekend, and I loved the first episode. MJM thought it was totally cheesy, but I didn’t expect anything less. We’ll probably watch more episodes this weekend.
We also just watched Inside Out together as a family, and we all loved it! If you haven’t seen it yet, go, go, go! Just bring a box of tissue with you.

What You May Have Missed On the Blog This Week…
I wrote two blog posts this week that you may have missed.
Give them a gander if you want to laugh or be inspired. You know that’s my jam.

Ailee’s (from Snapshot & My Thought’s) Photo Challenge…
This week, my friend Ailee (@snapshotsandmythoughts) started a photo challenge on Instagram. You can see more by using the hashtag: #SAMTphotochallenge. I loved the way she did hers for two reasons. 1) The photo prompts were the best. 2) She made it into a contest and was offering up Starbucks for the prize each day. I’m still crossing my fingers I’ll win a day.
Here were the prompts and the pictures I’ve used so far this week. You can hop over to my Instagram to read the captions.
Day 1: Something you cannot live without
Day 2: your best foot forward for #tuesdayshoesday
Day 3: How do you wind down?
Day 4: #tbt to a time you felt beautiful
Day 5: a colorful life. Coming soon! I’ve had so much fun picking these pictures each day. Thanks, Ailee!
FIVE.
The lows…
The lows…
This week I’ve had a lot of anxiety. I’ve actually had a lot of anxiety for the past three months, but who’s counting? Like I said before, I can’t really go into to detail, because some parts of my life just can’t be shared here, BUT, what I will say is that sometimes you just have to let go of the rope and fall into the safety net held by Jesus.
You know, you make plans and God laughs. His plans are so much greater than our own though. That is a promise I’m leaning on today and always have. I’m claiming these words loud and proud, “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call on me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah 29: 11-13
Sometimes we get complacent with our lives. I worry about this often. I think to myself, “Life is getting pretty easy. I wonder what my next challenge will be?” I mean, who thinks that way?! But I know through experience that each and every challenge and storm that I face in life, God never fails me. Are my prayers always answered the way I want them to be? Absolutely not! But I don’t let that stop me from believing that God is my provider, my strength, and my shield. With each obstacle I’ve been given in my life, my faith has ALWAYS grown stronger. And I have no doubt that it will happen again.
With that being said, please keep us in your prayers. I’m hoping to share some really exciting news soon. Lord knows we need it. Thanks for always being a doll, friends. Love you to the moon and back! Now go and have a blessed weekend. ;)

I think that all the time – life seems ok, I should be alert for the next bomb to drop. Ugh. It’s frustrating, but I am working like crazy to turn it over to Him. Love you, friend!

I think it must be the life of anxious person. Guess God is still trying to teach us something. ;) Always a work in progress. Love you, too!

AMEN God’s plans are so glorious! Thankful for His gift of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ! What a merciful Father He is.

(Sorry for the very late reply but…) Thank you so much for your sweet comments and thoughts throughout the last few months. God’s plans are GLORIOUS and I finally am getting back to a spot of happiness again. I tried my hardest to keep up with everything during our trials AND to stay positive, but it wasn’t easy. Thank you for being patient, kind, and for praying! I hope you have a wonderful weekend, friend!

Always love go texan week at school…Charlotte looks adorbs. I’ve already watched 5 episodes of Fuller House and they are all cheesy and I LOVE it…and how does John Stamos still look so darn hot! I have only battled with anxiety intermittently for years but since November I have really been struggling. I really hope the coming spring weather and more light during the day might help. I went to a talk yesterday Happy Brain, Happy Life and one thing she said was depression happens when we focus too much on things that happened in the past and anxiety happens when our focus is too much on the future. The whole talk was about being able to wind down and really find your inner peace. Prayers to you….you’ve got this with Jesus by your side!

Charlotte looks so cute! I’m really bad at watching shows while they’re actually on – I much prefer to binge watch!

TV has been our wind down choice too. Finding a show that we’re both willing to watch though is really hard! HAHA! We started Better Call Saul on Netflix, but couldn’t get into it as fast as Breaking Bad… we need to pick that back up! And I had to chuckle at the princess overload picture. Looks a lot like our house! Baby dolls and princesses everywhere, at all times :) Hope you’re having a great weekend!

Now that winter is coming to an end, K isn’t building sleds every evening and we’ve been watching TV together. I’m still watching Grey’s; I just can’t quit it. We like Big Bang too. And Blackish is hilarious. Baby girl and I binge watched Fuller House last week. She lived it!
Charlotte in those boots…..so cute!
