17. Go to the beach. Taking Charlotte to the beach for the first time was magical, and I can’t wait to get back. This time we can actually splash around in the waves. Because I grew up in a beach town, this is a must!
18. Read 12 new books. That’s one new book for every week of the summer. We have a massive children’s library (book hoarder here), so this will not be hard for us. But if you don’t have a library because you’re not a former English teacher like I am, you can go to your local library to check books out. I used to love checking out books during the summer. Let’s not even talk about the smell of opening up a library book. Nostalgia!
19. Watch the fireworks. Since July 4th is in the summer (for my non-US friends, that’s Independence Day for us), we’ll either watch the fireworks from afar or break out the sparklers.
20. Stargaze. This will require the mini to stay up past bedtime, but I think the experience will be well worth it. The awe and wonder in her eyes…can’t wait to see it.
21. Catch a firefly. I think this might be the trickiest on the list, but it will certainly be fun to try.
22. Visit the zoo. Our first trip to the zoo was fantastic. It’ll be pretty hot when we go again, I’m sure, but it will be worth it. I’ll be looking back to these 5 tips to enjoy the zoo, that is for sure. A petting zoo definitely counts, too!
23. Jump on a trampoline. Charlotte loves her mini-trampoline, and there are plenty of indoor trampoline parks nearby, which means we’ll be hitting one up soon.
24. Make a stuffed animal. Build-A-Bear, anyone?
25. Watch a new movie. I have seen Frozen about five billion times, and we’re getting there with Beauty and the Beast. A new movie to add to our rotation is much needed.
26. Play a new game. We usually play chase around the house. I think it’s time for hopscotch. You know, outside. Which leads me to…
27. Sidewalk chalk. Charlotte loves drawing with the chalk! We’ll definitely be doing more of this.
28. Bake cookies. Or bake anything for that matter, preferably these mini-cheesecakes, but I won’t be picky.
29. Enjoy a snow cone or popsicle (homemade or store-bought). Ice cream is great and all, but Blue Bell is on hiatus, which means we Texans have to get creative. Snow cones and homemade popsicles can hold us over.
30. Attend a playdate. For some reason, the summer is loaded with playdates. We’ll definitely be going to a playdate or two.
31. Feed the ducks. During our family walks by the lakes in our neighborhood, Charlotte always oohs and ahhs when she sees the ducks quacking around. We’ll be sure to take some bread crumbs on one of our adventures.
32. Have a backyard BBQ. Remember when the hubs made these amazing looking ribs? Yeah, we’ll be doing that again.

Awesome list girl! We build forts at least once a week. A loves them too!
And dance parties are always a must. :)
Kristy says
Thanks, Tiffany! We need to make one ASAP. Charlotte loves blankets and pillows, so it shouldn’t be too hard to do. ;)

FUN!! We have to jump in on all this. Summer is THE best. We’re kicking off our weekend with a little backyard camping!!

Go Karra! :) I would have added that to our list, but sister girl only likes sleeping in her crib. Lol. But I agree with you, summer is the best!
