Charlotte’s First Beach Trip

This past weekend, we took some time out of our busy schedule to finally take Charlotte to the beach. My little hometown by the bay doesn’t have stellar water or crystal beaches, but it’s home. Those sandy beaches with brown water sitting alongside that sliver of the Texas Gulf Coast are my roots. And since before Charlotte was even born, I couldn’t wait to take her to the beach. The cascading waves, the howling wind, and the chirping birds soothe my soul. It’s no wonder that she loves to fall asleep to the sound of ocean waves. She gets it from her mama. The beach is sure to be a place for peace for her, too. 
I was curious as to how she would react to the sand. She was hesitant to take off her shoes, because this little girl likes things to be clean around her. She is my silly napkin girl, and cleans up the littlest of spills after an “OH NO” whenever anything touches the floor. So she was unsure of the grainy sand. You know my little lady, she whined a little, too. But the water kept her interested. And my mom and sister helped ease her fear, too. 
Her many faces say it all. 
She had a “why did you bring me here” face almost the entire time, but she ended up loving it. 
Once her Aunt Paige taught her that she could draw on the sand with sticks and throw said sticks into the water, she was sold. She even started to draw in the sand with her little fingers. 
My muffin did not want to leave. 
 She was having way too much fun and wanted to show me her new toy, sand. 
Don’t you worry, sweet girl. I hope to make many more memories at the beach, on the Gulf Coast and on the pretty beaches elsewhere, too.

  10. YES! Love this post, and I love the beach, it is my favourite place to be, the sound of the waves, the cool ocean breeze. I LOVE taking Scarlett to the beach on the little Island that I’m from every summer, she finally has warmed up to it too which is nice. :)
