Four Years of Marriage

Today is one of my very favorite days of the year! It’s our anniversary. Googly eyes galore. This morning I woke up and made my wonderful a small little breakfast. While that may not sound like a big deal, let me assure you, that it was filled with love. You see, ever since I became a stay-at-home-mom, my sleep is very near and dear to my heart. The hubs wakes up at 4:50 every morning, and to get up to make him breakfast is kind of a big deal. He’s worth it. I don’t know if we’ll make it a habit, but he definitely deserved a hot meal today before he left for work. 

M and I met back in 2008 on Halloween. We met at a costume party, and I hadn’t even planned on going. It was a last minute decision for me, so I went as myself. Lame, I know. He was dressed up as a nerd. Me fall in love with a nerd? No way. (You can read all about that time in my life here.) Funny thing is, we’re two peas in a pod. God certainly does know how to pick ’em. As fate would have it, he was the one for me. Two years later, we were married.

Here are a few (I mean a lot of) pictures from our wedding day.

I made this video for my love’s birthday back in May, and Charlotte has insisted we watch it a dozen times this morning. She also is the reason why my words are cut short. ;) I can’t watch this without crying the happy tears.

Thank you for making me a bride four years ago today. Thank you for making me a wife, and thank you for making me a mother. You make me want to be the best that I can be. I appreciate you working so tirelessly to give us a good life, but most of all I thank you so much for putting God first in our lives and letting Him lead the way. Through the good times and the bad, I’m thankful for it all. I’m blessed beyond measure to get to do life with you. I love you more.
We celebrated early last week, and I shared this picture on Instagram.

  4. Happy anniversary! I love your dress and the colors (purple and green are my favorites). Although, I’m not sure if I can follow you anymore as I see that you are Longhorns fans. I love my K-State Wildcats. I suppose since we’re in the same conference, I’ll let it slide though. Here’s to many more!

    • Thanks, Erin! I loved the color combo, too. Haha about being a Longhorn fan! My husband went to school there, but I went to Texas State. I’m not huge into football, but I’ve been told since I married a Longhorn, I’m a fan by default. Lol.

    • Thanks, Jessica! I went and looked at that one again after you said that, and you are so right! I don’t think anyone can deny she has my mouth, cheeks, and smile. Lol. Thanks for the wishes! We enjoyed ourselves. :)

  7. Happy anniversary!! LOVED your wedding dress – it all looked so pretty! My husband wakes up super early each morning too, and I just can’t bring myself to wake up quite as early as him. I have gotten better since finding my own little routine, but I can’t do anything before 6:00 am. And that’s pushing it. 6:30-7:00 is more my speed. :)

    • Thanks, Chelsea! My dress was probably my favorite detail of the wedding. Lol. Of course the wedding in itself was the best, but my dress…well, you know. ;)

      As far as getting up that early, sheesh…I don’t know how he does it everyday. 7:30/8 a.m. is my love language, but I wish I could wake up earlier. Oh well! :)
