I’d dare say that this has been the best month yet. I love every day with this sweet little baby of mine, but the days really do get better and better all the time. My little bit’s personality has been shining through for a long while now, but she has the kindest spirit, and I am in constant awe of my sweet girl. She’ll be twenty months tomorrow, so I wanted to stop and document all the shenanigans that she’s doing (and some not fun stuff, too…because being a toddler is tough). This is my letter to her to remember all the little things.
My Dear Charlie Bear,
This month has been so much fun. We finished up swim lessons and are in search of a new activity for the fall and spring. Every day you wake up, I get tons of smiles, shouts full of glee, and a snuggly little muffin, that’s you. But this day, you wanted nothing to do with the camera. I don’t blame you. However, I couldn’t help but capture you in your morning glory.
We recently moved your carseat to face forward. Your legs are long and our trips are, too. I thought I would wait at least another four months to move you, but you are much happier this way. Your cheeks may not say you’re happy in the picture below, but no tears mean you’re a happy camper. Puppy and Piggy are always in tow.
You can even watch Frozen happily now, too. I let Daddy chauffeur us around every now and then. It’s a good deal.
Speaking of Frozen, you love this movie so much. The other day I caught you talking back to the screen, repeating a line like your dad and I do when we watch one of our favorite movies. I couldn’t help but laugh when I heard you say, “Hoo hoo, family!” It was the sweetest. You also ooh and aahh and gasp at the excitement from the screen. You’re so smart, and a little dramatic, too. I have no idea where you get that from. ;)
You also love to talk on the phone. You jibber jabber for at least five minutes a day and have some great conversations. Who you’re talking to? I don’t know. But it’s someone special, I’m sure.
Going out to eat is fun for us, and you’re usually such a good girl. You make a mess, but what little girl doesn’t? You’re such a sweet soul, and you wave to anyone and everyone, always saying hi.
Your vocabulary is growing daily. I would list all the things you’re saying right now, but I don’t want to write a book just yet. Just know that Mommy is writing it all down for you to see one day. I will list a few of my favorite things that you are saying though: I luh you, bess you (after sneezes and coughs), ‘men (Amen), and thereyago (all one word).
Although some days are more difficult than others, I love every minute with you, my little Charlie Bear. Lately, you’ve been a little clingy and needy, and some days you just want to be held and nothing else. That’s okay with me. I know these days are going to go by quickly, so I’m soaking it all up. You get extra fussy when you go through a growth spurt or are teething. And both have been going on the last couple of weeks. Growth spurts for you mean sleeping extra long through the night, sometimes thirteen hours! Then we’ll top off the day with a two hour nap. My little lady, you love your beauty sleep. But since teething is rearing its ugly head again, it definitely is throwing the sleep off. I think you’re on the verge of getting a few more teeth, the canines, and apparently those aren’t any fun to welcome in.
Another thing you’re loving lately is animals, and I can’t wait to take you to the zoo. We recently took our first trip to PetSmart with you, and you were in awe. You said, “What’s that?” about a million times. I just love listening to your little voice.
You run around until you work up a sweat and can’t run anymore. And when you’re walking around outside, you never want to hold my hand, because you’re little miss independent. You are the sweetest.
You also still are the biggest helper around the house. You like to wipe the floors and empty out the dishwasher. You don’t care if the dishes haven’t been washed though. You just put them back in their drawer anyway. You mimic everything you see me do. Such a little copy cat you are. ;)

Stopping by from the blog hop- I’m so glad I stumbled onto it. I’ve found so many other great blogs (like yours :) ) that I’d never seen before. Thanks for your comment on my travel tips post. I was going to add something here about car trips but it looks like you’ve already found the magic trick to make them go smoother for littles: movies.
Your sweet girl is beautiful and you’re right about this being a really good age. I loved going through this stage with my 4 year old and 2-year old and am looking forward to watching our new baby grow towards it.
Cheers,
