A couple of weeks ago, I shared a few tips on my Instagram Stories of how I’m being very intentional with my day in order to make the most out of every single day during this crazy, crazy season.
You are the captain of your ship! You get to decide where you sail inside your home and inside your head. Let’s all decide to go to happy places.
I put it together in a little video now on IGTV, but I’ll share all of the info with you here, too!
- Get dressed! It’s the whole reason behind our April Style Challenge. Be sure to check that out here and here on Instagram.
- Diffuse all the happy scents! Diffusing is my favorite!!! We diffuse all day, every day. You can read all about why we diffuse oils here and here. I use oils for everything, and I don’t even want to think about what life would be like right now without them.
- Put on makeup. I feel 100% better when I put my makeup on. When I look my best, I feel my best. I’ve always believed that you should dress for the role you want. And if that’s a fancy pants stay-at-home mama, then go for it. Getting fully dressed with makeup on is truly such a positive maker for me, and I’m sure some of you feel the same way.
- Open all your blinds. Sunlight is proven to help the mood. Vitamin D from the source of the sun is no joke. I pull my blinds all the way up every day and let all the sunlight in!
- Make your bed. Even if you don’t know how to make your bed like a four-star hotel, pull it together like the champ you are. A clean and orderly house is the best mood booster.
- Keep your routines as normal as possible. Even if your routine changes often, make it a priority to set a basic routine for yourself and your family and stick to it! We still have our coffee every day, have school time in the morning, and meal plan every meal. Time blocking our day has also been super helpful during this time.
- Listen to your favorite record or playlist. Music fuels my soul like no other. If I’m wanting to really up the ante, I turn on my worship music playlist and if I am ready to tackle some work, I have been loving my new work time playlist.
- Get some fresh air and move your body. Every single day that the weather is good, we have been enjoying time outside. Walking around our neighborhood has been a huge part of our daily routine. It lets the kid burn some energy and moving our bodies is crucial to our well-being.
- Wake up before your kids to have an hour to yourself. Every day, I wake up before my kids and have my cup of coffee, jot down my grateful list, get organized for the day with my top-three most important tasks for the day, and get dressed.
- Start a gratitude journal and journal before you start your day. Some people love writing their grateful list at night, but I’m usually too tired before I hit my head to the pillow. I type out my list of things I’m grateful for in the morning, and just thinking about all the happy that happened the day before truly puts me in a good head space.
- Drink half your body weight in ounces daily! I try to drink all the water I can during the day. I have a huge 32 oz. tumbler and I make sure to fill it up at least three times.
- Give up the junk. Whatever you fuel your body with is how you are going to feel. Want to feel like junk? Eat and drink the junk. Want to feel like a million bucks? Eat food that FUELS you. We of course have been keeping up with our Keto lifestyle about 95% of the time during quarantine. This week we had to buckle down a little more, because our snacking was getting a little out of hand due to quarantine life and sheer boredom. But when you know, you know. Keeping up your nutrition is one of the sure-fire ways to keep up your immunity.
And that’s a wrap! How are you all staying sane and happy? We can do this!!!
